After a fantastic night of fights at UFC on Fox 4 there was some unfortunate bad news as talented welterweight prospect Rory MacDonald has been forced out of his UFC 152 matchup with BJ Penn. UFC President Dana White announced the move after the UFC on Fox 4 press conference. The UFC President confirmed that a replacement for MacDonald will be sought.
The talented Canadian prospect apparently suffered a severe cut in training and will not be allowed to train for a month. The cut apparently required forty stitches to close the wound. MacDonald was in the midst of three-fight winning streak, after losing to interim champion Carlos Condit, and hoping to vault himself into title contention with a win over Penn.
UFC 152 takes place September 22 live from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario. The card will be headlined by the inaugural flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and Joe Benavidez. The card will also feature a bout between middleweight contenders Michael Bisping and Brian Stann.

The WORST news I have HERD all YEAR!…DAMMIT!
I would not be surprised if BJ pulls out of the fight as well if they don’t find a replacement that will be of interest to BJ.
If Swick isn’t injured I think he and BJ would put on a good show.
There just postponing the fight to a later date from what I have read from bj penn and rory.
BJ wants it at UFC 153 in Rio. Rory wants it in November, which is probably at UFC 154 in Montreal. I really want it at UFC 154 in Montreal.
As long as it happens I don’t have a problem where it happens.
Of course he wants it in Montreal.. go figure…
BJ’s a vet, he should be fine with fighting anywhere, whether’s it’s in someone else’s country or not.
Quick somebody get Erick Silva on the phone.
He’s already fighting Fitch in Rio.
I think Erick Silva vs. Penn would be great.
Or Silva vs. MacDonald- can’t wait for their inevitable meeting.
Or MacDonald vs. Fitch…
Dammit, why can’t we do it WWE style and have a fatal four way???
