UFC on Fox 4 takes place tonight live from the Staples center in Los Angeles, California. The main card will be headlined by a light heavyweight fight between Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Brandon Vera. The card will be co-headlined by Ryan Bader and Lyoto Machida, with the most impressive winner of the four receiving a light heavyweight title fight.

Is the main and co main 5 rounds since they are title contender fights?
It’s just the main event, they have to stick to time constraints with the card being on network, two 5-rounders would require too much time. Though the contender status was added to motivate the guys to NOT go to the scorecards
De Fries looke a lot better this fight with his striking.
I figured all that. I just know they said title contenders are suppose to be 5 rounds. So I was wondering if they were going to stick to that. I doubted it though for the same reasons.
I gotcha, technically, the way the UFC announced the “all main events are five rounds” policy is that the co-headliner would stay three rounds unless it was a title fight. That includes if the main event had to be scrapped as well.
Very disappointed for Phil Davis didn’t want it to end that way

Should be another fight on the night for Joe Lauzon. Very entertaining fight, great effort by Varner on short notice.
Honestly, is there another fighter NOT holding a title as impressive as Lauzon???

So who looked more impressive, Rua or Machida? Shogun was in a fight and machida had stronger competition.
