After a recent rough run at middleweight, Kyle Noke is moving to 170 lb. to take on Charlie Brenneman at UFC 151. “The Spaniard” will also be trying to right the ship, as he welcomes Aussie to welterweight.
Noke (19-6) began his middleweight run with three consecutive victories, but fell on hard times with back-to back losses. After Ed Harman submitted “KO” with an inverted heel hook last August, the Aussie spent some time on the shelf. He then fell short in his UFC return against promotional debutant Andrew Craig. In what may just be his last chance, Noke drops to welterweight to try and get back on his feet.
Brenneman’s (15-4) latest UFC run has been a bit of a roller coaster, after a banner win over the highly touted Rick Story, he hit a wall named Anthony Johnson. “The Spaniard would rebound from the loss by defeating Daniel Roberts in January, only to be decimated by rising star Erick Silva in June. Now 1-2 in his last three bouts, Brenneman likely fights for his place in the promotion.
