Jim Hettes vs Marcus Brimage at UFC 152

The UFC has announced a featherweight tilt between Jim Hettes and Marcus Brimage for UFC 152, which takes place September 22 at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre.

Hettes (10-0) has been on the inactive list since UFC 141 in December, where the usually submission-minded grappler displayed a natural knack for ground and pound to take a lopsided unanimous decision victory over Nam Phan. “The Kid” was slated to face Steven Siler last month at UFC on FX 4, but was forced out of the bout due to injury.

Brimage, a TUF 14 veteran, is currently 2-0 in the UFC. “The Bama Beast” most recently spoiled the featherweight debut of Maximo Blanco at UFC 145 in April. The usually aggressive Venezuelan found himself largely stifled by Brimage, who consistently outlanded him, taking home a split decision victory.

UFC 152 is headlined by the Joseph Benavidez meeting Demetrious Johnson in the finals of the UFC’s flyweight tournament, which will see the first 125 lb. promotional champion crowned. Also on the bill is a middleweight co-headliner that pits Michael Bisping against Brian Stann in a middleweight title eliminator.
