Ultimate Fighter 8 runner-up and Brazilian jiu jitsu champion Vinny Magalhaes has made his way back to the octagon. While no official date has been announced for “Pezao’s” return to the big show, TATAME speculates that Magalhaes will return September 1 at UFC 151.
The Brazilian’s first UFC run met a swift end in 2009, seeing him released after back-to-back losses to Ryan Bader and Elliot Marshall.
Magalhaes’ post-UFC run saw the make a 7-1 run, with every win coming by way of stoppage, capturing M-1′s Light Heavyweight Championship in the process. After a very public falling out with the promotion, one which even saw the Brazilian attempt to sell the promotion’s title on EBay, the matching period on “Pezao’s” contract has ended, giving him a chance to rejoin the ranks of the UFC.

Hopefully, the smug attitude has disappeared and we will see a more mature, evolved fighter this time around….
Sounds like a class act coming back to LHW. 3 fights and he is gone again.
this dude has unreal bjj, i have been following him on facebook since tuf, he does’nt seem like a screw up, I think he will do well personally all depends on how good his striking has evolved
Mikey you are right–his BJJ is sick. His problem his first time in the Big Show was lack of stand-up game. It will be interesting to see who Joe Silva matches him with first…
