Sam Stout Re-Signs With The UFC, To Fight Terry Etim At UFC 89

Sam StoutLightweight Sam Stout has re-signed with the UFC and will take on England native Terry Etim in October at UFC 89 in Birmingham, England according to Stout’s coach, Shawn Tompkins, at Full Contact Fighter:

“Sam Stout just re-signed with the UFC. They gave him another four fight deal, and it looks like he’ll be fighting October 18th in the London, England show against Terry Etim, who just fought Rich Clementi. They were going to try to make that fight happen (with Taylor) but I think Taylor decided he can’t make the 155 division so he’s going to stay at 170. Were itching to get Sam back in there, he’s pretty much had the whole summer off.”

Stout (13-4-1) has compiled a 2-3 record inside the octagon including victories over Spencer Fisher and Per Eklund. In his last bout, Stout was defead by Rich Clementi via split decision at UFC 83 in April.

Etim (10-2) is 1-2 in the UFC, winning his UFC debut over Matt Grice in early-2007 before dropping back-to-back bouts against Gleison Tibau and Rich Clementi.

Yeah, Stout has always delivered an entertaining fight. He is by no means the best at 155 but he is a fantastic fighter with a lot of heart. Sometimes people forget that the UFC needs more than just the #1 fighter in every weight class, and Stout’s fights will always deliver.

shawn tompkins better start fighting back.getting beat up dont make you a fighter it just means you got in a fight.

yeah it says on the one article hes a long time vet, maybe being a trainer cause hes obviously shown hes a world class trainer now but his pro record is 0-4 and im pretty sure there all tko/ko. and now hes gonna make his fighting comeback against ken shamrock. if he can finally retire shamrock hopefully that will push him further to turning his record around
