As if the evening’s main event weren’t enough, fans are now guaranteed fireworks when the UFC takes over the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. UFC 150, which will be anchored by a lightweight championship rematch between Ben Henderson and Frankie Edgar, has now added another pair of dynamic 155 lb fighters added to the bill as Donald Cerrone takes on Melvin Guillard.
Cerrone (18-4), recently dominated Jeremy Stephens in a rather lopsided decision at UFC on Fuel TV 3. “Cowboy” rebounded from his sole promotional loss to current number one contender Nate Diaz after a run which saw the Jackson’s MMA product take five fights in 2011, closing out the year with a 4-1 record inside the octagon.
Guillard (30-10) broke a two-fight skid by outpointing Fabricio Camoes just one week ago at UFC 148. “The Young Assassin” was on a five-fight tear prior to dropping back-to-back bouts to Joe Lauzon and Jim Miller. The Blackzilian fighter now looks to put together another win-streak when he meets Cerrone, which would undoubtedly put him back into title contention.

Sick match up!!
I agree, great matchup!
Like it just hope guillard can avoid the ground. I like his chance on the feet.
Im a huge melvin and cowboy fan but i will be pulling for melvin in this one.
Guillard needs to learn to put his hands up he completely relies on pulling his head straight back and someone like cowboy can take advantage of that.
This is an incredibly interesting match up. Both guys are momentum fighters, so whoever is able to get their game going first will most likely win… That is if Guillard can actually keep himself focused on the fight, otherwise Cerrone could dominate.
Cerrone by rear naked?
I love Melvin, he’s an H-Town brother like myself. That being said, I can’t see Cerrone not bouncing back from such a disappointing showing against Diaz.
Both fighters really need this win–my early favorite for Fight of the Night…
let’s just hope ol’ Mel has been workin on his bjj defense, i mean, it’s not like he does not have people to teach him over @ the Blackzilians camp. i like both of these guys so, i hope Mel is really applying himself. i wanna see a war not another early exit for Mel.
Nice to see two men acting like men and fighting each other instead of avoiding each other, even when they’re friends.
