Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Heath Herring at UFC 73

Heath HerringIn another huge announcement today, the UFC has announced that recent acquisition Antonio Rodrigo “Minotauroâ€? Nogueira will face Heath Herring on July 3rd at UFC 73. This is another huge bout added to a card that already includes two title defenses as well as one of the UFC’s biggest names.

Last week we thought we learned that Nogueira’s opponent would be Justin McCully likely at UFC Fight Night 10 or the TUF 5 Finale but that was debunked the next day by UFC president Dana White days later.

“Big Nog” is regarded as one of the most exciting fighters in all of MMA with an impressive record to boot. He holds wins over Mirko “Cro Cop”, Dan Henderson, Josh Barnett, and Fabricio Werdum. Heath Herring has also been taken down by Nogueira previously but this should be an impressive bout none the less.

Herring was upset in his UFC debut by “Irish” Jake O’Brien but rebounded with a win over Brad Imes last month at UFC 69.
