Welterweight mainstay Ben Saunders will be returning to the giant Bellator cage on July 20 at Bellator 72. This time competing at a 178 lb catchweight, the ATT product welcomes Brian Warren to the promotion.
Saunders (13-5), a muay Thai and jiu jitsu specialist, has found great success hitherto in the Bellator cage, but has yet to capture a tournament championship, losing to Douglas Lima in the finals of the season 5 tournament and most recently Bryan Baker in the season 6 semifinals. A likely participant in the coming tournament, “Killa B” takes a break from the format to be a part of the Bellator Summer Series in a one-off bout.
Warren (18-15) will be looking to impress in his Bellator debut against the tried-and-true veteran. Although his record looks substandard, “Mr. Unbreakable” is on a five-fight win-streak since making the move to welterweight. Now undefeated since 2010, Warren finally gets his chance in the big show.

Ben Saunders is cool …… his fights are usually exciting …… root for him in every tournament , he just needs to get over the hump and win it .
Some fighters just never do get over the top. Vera, Marcus Davis, Lytle, etc. all good solid fighters but just didn’t have enough to break through.
I think in his case it may be just overtraining for a big fight , then his opponent goes the other way of the game plan and capitalizes .
