Today the UFC officially announced yet another event, the long rumored UFC 73. The event will be officially known as ‘UFC 73: Stacked’ and nothing could more accurately describe the event that will go down on July 7th. It is hard to pick the”main event” as there are two title bouts on the card along with a fight featuring one of the most successful UFC fighters.

In the official main event we will see Anderson Silva in his first title defense against Nate Marquardt. It will be his first defense since winning the title from Rich Franklin. In another title defense Sean Sherk will defend his lightweight title against Hermes Franca in another first title defense tilt. UFC star Tito Ortiz is also set to return to the octagon following his loss to Chuck Liddell to take on undefeated “Sugar” Rashad Evans.

Here is a quote from Dana White from UFC.com on the upcoming UFC schedule:

“We have five UFC events lined up now through July in the US and UK, and every one of them is stacked with great fights,â€? said UFC President Dana White. “No matter where we have a UFC, our goal is always the same – to deliver the best fights between the best mixed martial arts fighters. Our fans know they will always see a good fight, and that’s why the UFC reigns supreme in live sports today.”

The event will be held at the ARCO Arena is Sacramento, California and will be broadcast on Pay-Per-View.
