The Las Vegas District Attorney’s office has dropped the assault charges against Arianny Celeste and her reported boyfriend. The charges stemmed from a domestic incident that happened prior to UFC 146. MMAJunkie first reported the story Monday.
Celeste and her reported boyfriend, Praveen Chandra, were arrested after a domestic argument escalated into a physical altercation. Chandra accused the Octagon girl of breaking his nose, while Celeste contended he attempted to choke her several times. Celeste missed most of UFC 146 due to the incident.
The DA’s office dropped the charges due to “insufficient evidence.”
The UFC has maintained their support of Arianny since the incident. With UFC President Dana White releasing the statement:
“Arianny is our baby, she has been with us for over five years. She is a good girl and an amazing ambassador for the UFC. I don’t know all the details of what happened, but we have her back and support her 100 percent.”
