The Super Fight League’s recent string of signings, which saw the likes of Jeff Monson and Satoshi Ishii brought to the Indian promotion, has given former Pride and UFC star Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou a new home. In his promotional debut, Sokoudjou will face-off with the veteran Trevor Prangley in a heavyweight main event at SFL 5.
Sokoudjou (12-10) is currently on a two-fight skid, which includes a contentious unanimous decision loss to Ryan Jimmo, who would go on to join the UFC light heavyweight ranks. The Cameroonian judoka strung together three wins before his most recent rough patch.
Prangley (25-9-1) is currently 3-3 in his last six fights, rebounding from three consecutive losses with back-to-back wins against Baga Agaev and George Stork. The South African fighter is a veteran of the UFC, Strikeforce, Bellator, Dream, and several other prominent MMA promotions.
SFL 5 is slated to take place in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India on October 6.
