Although UFC on FX 4’s main event of Grey Maynard vs Clay Guida can only be described as tepid, not every bout on the bill failed to deliver. Proving so are the following “Fight Night” bonuses assigned by the UFC.
Taking home an extra $50,000 for their efforts are Cub Swanson, Dan Miller, Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher.
Swanson rides off with the fight of the night bonus for blasting Ross Pearson with a stiff left hand, sending him to the ground, reeling. The Jackson’s MMA product eventually finished the Brit with strikes on the ground, forcing a stoppage at 4:14 of the second period.
Dan Miller and his signature guillotine choke also take home an extra 50k, for forcing Ricardo Funch to tap at 3:12 of the final stanza. the Jersey native, who was making his welterweight debut, seemed determined to close out the bout with a guillotine, attempting it on several occasions.
Unsurprisingly, Sam Stout and Spencer Fisher’s rubber match was exciting enough to garner the evening’s “Fight of The Night” honors. While Stout outworked his long-time foe for the duration, Fisher remained competitive throughout the bout as both men delivered more of what they started at UFC 58 and continued at UFC Fight Night 10.
