Then why do so many people like Machida?
Kos is doing the best he can as a wrestler turned fighter. Unlike Machida he is trying to adapt his game and be a more exciting fighter.
You got me there Curtis, I think with Machida although his fight are usually devoid of excitement you always get the impression that something could happen whereas with Kos your 99% certain that the only thing that will happen is that he’ll lye on his opponent for 3 rounds.
but machida can punch, can kick, can pull of submissions, and can wrestle a little bit ll to a fairly high standard. Koscheck is a phenominal wrestler and he sticks to his roots. Machida tries to encorporate all of the mma aspects into his fights whereas Kos sticks to what he knows. Being fair Kos wins most of the time so it must be working for him
Kos has improved drastically. I hate him but there is no denying he has improved. He may not be fun to watch at times……that doesn’t mean he isn’t good. I hate him for putting the hose on Leben during TUF 1 while swinging off Bobby Boring Southworth’s nutsack. Kos should have apologized like a MAN. Leben went outside to sleep so everything would calm down…..Kos and Boring Southworth had to escalate the situation after it was done. The worst part is, turning the hose on a sleeping guy is COWARDLY! I don’t care if these guys are pro fighters….they acted like cowards and were never man enough to admit it…..PUSSIES!
ok..maybe im a homer here…since KOS is my fav fighter…but how can you say he is boring?!?! Seriously?!?! Ok…take away the Diego fight… bc I even thought that was boring…other than that….he has been very exciting…he is quick… his takedowns are flawless…and smooth.. I grew up watching HS Wrestling, so im a fan of wrestlers…but the Hazlett fight…was very entertaining…the Lytle fight was the same… even the St Pierre fight…He took GSP to the end…GSP couldnt stop or submit him.. and I hope next yr at some point he gets a rematch.. prob wont happen so soon…but I hope he does…
I USED TO THINK KOS WAS BORING IN THE SHOW AND A FEW FIGHTS AFTER. BUT HE HAS STEPPED IT UP. I DISLIKE LIKE HOW HE LIAD ON CHRIS AT THE END OF EVERY ROUND WITH HIS ELBOW IN HIS FACE. BUT HE AS STEPPED IT UP. NOT BAD
i’m still on the fence about kos. after the diego fight i couldn’t stand his antics. who brags after a performance like that. but his last two fights have been pretty good, i thought the fight against lytle was one of the better fights on the card. more importantly, he seems to be more mature and respectful. could be that he just had something against diego or maybe he’s grwon up a little, i’ll try to see how it goes from here.
Oh yea…his antics vs Diego were HILLARIOUS..and brought on by Diego….he talked so much crap to KOS and to basically anyone about how he will NEVER lose..it was his destiney to be an undefeated fighter…..and during weigh ins… he was talking crap to KOS…saying he couldnt beat him standing up and he couldnt take him down.. and to me, thats bold…to tell a 4 time Division 1 wrestler that he cant take you down…come on.. so when KOS won that fight…hell yea he gloated…and to be honest….rightfully so…. I wouldve done the same thing…KOS wasnt talking crap before the fight..just saying he cant stand diego…..and diego came out with a video on how he trained with Oscar Delahoya (sp?) and how his stand up is soooo much better then KOS and anyone in that division…
hmmm, well then i’d have to say i’m swaying towards kos then as far as bein a fan goes. granted, he still seems a bit cocky for someone that hasn’t done as much as some, but the diego thing is startin to appear like it was an isolated incident which in this sport it seems like that’s bound to happen with every fighter. no one gets along with everyone and even if they do, it’s a fight, trash talk is part of the game. just depends on how you do it and how you conduct yourself after the fight in my opinion. that’s why i like serra, he’ll talk all day and after all’s said and done, he’s a good guy about it. it’ll be interesting to see him after the hughes fight, regardless of the outcome. back to kos, hopefully the guy continues to improve as both a fighter and a likeable guy. that way i can focus all my insults on bisping.
Kos has grown as a fighter and earned my respect after TUF.
Don’t forget on TUF how disrespecful Kos was to Randy. That and the hose thing that KOuch was talking about. Thats why I don’t like him.
I think he had a lot of growing up to do….
The first time I watched season 1 I couldn’t stand Chris Leben, but the more I have seen it the more I think he was hilarious. A bit over the top at times but funny.
Kos did have tons of growing up to do and has done tons of it.
He keeps winning and getting better, but the important part is that he is improving and trying to become a well rounded fighter. Even he has said he isn’t well rounded yet.

i know what kos did in season one was just plain wrong. But if you hear the way he talks and stuff, u will find out he’s matured. He’s not like that anymore, and he just wants respect
Every fighter in that division has a lot of maturing to do. None of them and think about this for a minute….. Not one fighter in that division is on GSP’s level. I’m not even a fan of his mostly because my girlfriend has a crush on him, but he is on another planet compared to kos and anyone else. GSP vs. Penn/Silva. anything else is a picnic for GSP.
