  • JOHNBOY says:

i had it 48-46 round 1 and 3 rampage rest forrest with 10-8 in the second, thats why fighters shouldn’t leave it to the judges. i wonder if rampage did bet his whole purse on it an also is rampage trainer guna quit? haha

  • Dietrich says:

This is where the eyewitness jokes on CSI come from…

  • jpm says:

I know it would make little difference to the outcome but how on earth can judges Byrd & Silbert give round one to Forrest? He was a fraction of a second from being old cold!! I think the scoring is contravertial at best & sinister at worst. As it has been pointed out to us by other users of this site today, Rampage confessed to having his ass whooped but I took that as a man with class being magnanamous in defeat rather than his firm opinion.

  • jpm says:

Also, i’d be interested to seed how Michael Bisping would have scored the fight, i’d also like to see him used as a guest judge at some point in the future, he’s great !!

  • BobbyB says:

like jackson said after the fight to be the champion you must beat the champion,So when a champion lets a fight go to the hands of the officals you never know what will happen some times you wonder What fight were they watching

  • JOHNBOY says:

come on then guys who gets the next shot and who does rampage fight next? i say the winner of chuck an evens gets the next shot and rampage an shogun go at it

  • jpm says:

I think Chuck will get the next shot although personally i’d like to see Thiago Silva fight for the title first.

Rampage vs Wand, the winner of that again Shogun and the winner of that goes for the title

  • BobbyB says:

The great thing about the UFC is that on any night if a fighter does not bring his A game he can go down to defeat by fighter that have no right in beaten them

  • jwilly84us says:

I had Jackson winning 1, 3, & 4 and Griffin winning 2 (10-8) & 5 for a 47 to 47 draw. How can you not give Jackson round 1 when he rocked Griffin to the mat with a solid upper-cut. If you are scoring the second round a 10-8 round which Forest completely dominated, but failed to do any huge damage on the ground when he had the chance. the third round was controlled by Jackson as was ehe fourth. Neither fighter did anyrhing impressive in the fifth round except the last 30 seconds. Jackson got hosed.

  • Dietrich says:

If Liddell gets the next shot then i hope Rashad whips his @#!. Nor do I hope we go through a Rampage Shogun Silva Pride retread triangle Lets see a title shot tournament(Maybe a unification series with the WEC) and give someone else a chance of making a name for themselves. Anything else gives the upstarts their respect bores a segment of the viewing that already knows what the outcome is likely to be or is polarized by an aging fighter…Just my 2 cents worth…

  • Ethan says:

These idiots need to be run out of the bisiness. How the hell can you give round 1 to Forrest. I also had it a draw. Seriously, how the hell do you score round 1 for forrest. Please tell me

  • jpm says:

Like I said in my earier point, contravertial at best, sinister at worst !!!

  • Ethan says:

I can definitely see round 4 going to forrest with the triangle so I can see the win going to Griffin. I think the cards should be publicly posted after each round so a judge can be more accountable on the spot.

  • joel b says:

that was a pretty good fight hey……did rampage give forrest him purse i recall him saying “i bet our fight dont go to a decision i bet my whole purse” i am just saying

  • Smitty says:

JOHNBOY you are a moron!!!! I saw a robbery last night and the downfall of a great sport!!! Dana doesnt care about the sport it is all about the $$$. He knows forrest is a big draw than rampage. The least it should have been was a draw & the biggest a win for rampage. Rd 1 to forrest how did he win that one? I know by trying to break rampage hand with his face!!! New fighting staredy… Ufc is the next boxing….FIXED!!!

  • zert says:

This is what happens when you put the decision making in the hands of humans. I like the way it used to be. Fight to the finish, not glorified boxing. Royce Gracie used to fight for hours. That was real ultimate fighting not this mix of professional wrestling and boxing.

  • Pete90 says:

c’mon saying that the fight was fixed is stupid because it clearly wasnt. Rampage lost he admited it himself. What does Dana achieve out of fixing a fight, how does it make him more money??

  • christophe says:

Wow Rampage beats Marvin Eastman, Rampage beats Chuck Liddell knocking him out for the first time, Rampage beats Dan Henderson the two time Pride Champion and Forrest Griffin beats Rampage in a decision. The judges screwed over Rampage. Can’t wait for a rematch. Knock Forrest out next time so the judges can’t make another mistake. Go Rampage!!!!!!!

  • JOHNBOY says:

something tells me smitty is suckin rampage’s c0ck he got beat far an square even he admitted it so i think your the moron

  • Scott says:

Dana makes money from everyone watching the sport, buying the shirts, hats and all that good stuff. Fixing a fight doesn’t make him anymore money. WE ARE THE ONES MAKING DANA ALL THAT MONEY! He may be sleazy, but we are his sluts.

  • KOuch says:

    Scott,

I personally love MMA…especially the UFC…..I have no problem being Dana’s slut. The fight wasn’t fixed. It was close but I feel Rampage would have had the ugliest title defense in history had he won. He never controlled the match for more than 40 seconds.

  • Scott says:

    KOuch,

I agree with you. Great fight last night. Griffin is the man

  • lucas says:

i believe it could have gone either way but i believe neither fighter dominated it should have been rampage by split………forrest by split or a draw…..no one won a completly dominating performence………it should have been split but it doesnt matter because machida is gonna destroy forrest!…………War Machida!

  • Pete90 says:

When was the last time you saw Machida ‘DESTROY’ someone in the UFC?

  • KOuch says:

    Pete,

I don’t know about destroy…..but he sure frustrated Tito so bad that Tito eventually crapped his pants.

  • Ct says:

well…. all i have to say is forrest pushed the pase and did more in the first round until the knock down… but he also scrambled back up soon after it tho and ended the round with strikes so i can see how he got the first round but it could went either way… Come on guys give forrest credit.. he lasted the whole five rounds and earned the belt… he deserved it in my opinion… but i still like both fighters

  • Nate Dogg77 says:

Did any one else notice how smooth Rampage looked? He was not nearly as cut as he was when he faught Chuck and Dan. Too much time off hurt him bad because he lacks the disipline and work ethic of a guy like Forrest.

  • Goatly says:

i’m a Forrest fan and i thought all 3 judges scoring this fight were a ****ing joke !
It’s about time Ex-Pro’s become judges instead of these geriatric idiots.
    I had it:

    Rampage 10-9
    Forrest 10-8
    Forrest 10-9
    Rampage 10-9
    Rampage 10-9

    47-47 Draw

  • JHutch says:

NateDogg77…I agree that Rampage didn’t look as crisp as he did when he fought Hendo and Liddell. But you have to give him credit, because he looked like a big fat country ham on TUF. :o )

Can somebody please tell me how Rampage didn’t win round 1 according to two of the judges? Did they not see Rampage put Forrest on his back and drag him to the cage? I mean he didn’t do much damage after that but neither did Forrest in round 2 when he tried to ground & pound.

I know some people think it is a conspiracy against Rampage or just that Dana White wanted Forrest to win, but after seeing how these judges judged the fight, it makes you wonder. It should have been a draw. Can we please have ex-fighters judge these fights?

  • Dave, Md says:

I cant believe people are still whinning about Jackson losing … you’ll need to watch the end of the fight when Jackson said he got his ass whooped

  • Pete90 says:

i agree dave md – in my opinion forrest won anyway no need to wait for rampage to say that

  • Dave, Md says:

I just wish people would stop whinning ….

I thought Rampage was gonna win as well as alot of other on this site , It was a hell of a fight

  • Ethan says:

He’s a true pro. I can not believe how professionally he handled it. However, I still have a huge problem with a judge giving forrest 4 of the 5 rounds. I DVR’d it and watched it again today. It was either a 47-47 draw or a 48-46 forrest win. I have no problem with Griffin winning, but anyone that gave forrest the 1st has no place in the game.

  • Dave, Md says:

    KRIS

a real quick question are you going to be doing live updates on both UFC and Affliction on the 19th? Just asking cause I will be out of the country and this will be my only means of keeping up with whats going on.

  • Dave, Md says:

    Ethan
I will give you that. Rampage without a doubt in my eyes won the 1st round

  • tbird says:

I dont know what fight anyboby who says forrest was winning he controlled 1 round and that was when rampage was recovering the 1,3,4and 5th rounds rampaged stalked and rocked griffin look at the highlights at the end of the show all the ones from forrest was from the second round 1 attempt at a submission that almost got you slammed through the mat isnt control it was desperation

  • Dave, Md says:

so tbird what you are saying is that Rampage LIED when he said HE GOT HIS ASS BEAT!!!!!!!!!!

  • bj6789 says:

they both suck chuck liddel will rise AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dietrich says:

    Scott,
Sluts…Was that the sugar coated version…:)

  • JLM1976 says:

i only saw the fight once (when it was live), but I watched the fight very closely from the beginning to end. i like both fighters. forrest shows a lot of heart so i wouldn’t have been surprised if he’d ended up beating rampage. but he clearly did not defeat rampage. i scored the bout 49-46 in favor of jackson, but you could argue many things. i wouldn’t have been too shocked if one of the judges had scored the fight 48-47 in favor of rampage, but that is as close as it gets to griffin winning this fight. he created opportunities, but he didn’t outscore jackson. i don’t see how any of the judges could’ve said with a clear conscience that griffin won this fight. i’d like to see a replay of what the judges were doing during this fight. i wouldn’t say that griffin can’t decisively win if they fight again because this fight could’ve ended up going either way (and so can the rematch). but it’s really a shame to see a champ decisively win and still have the belt stripped from him. unbelievable…

  • Jay says:

I think the reason they score forrest round 1 is because he did more hits on rampage but rampage got him down with a punch near the end of the match.

  • AnthonyB says:

Its crazy to me that even one of the judges gave rd 1 to griffin. Quinton clearly inflicted some damage with that uppercut and then controlled Forrest on the ground. I thought Rampage had a legitimate chance to end the fight there. Forrest clearly won round 2 but why was it so decisively a 10-8 round? Yes he controlled the entire round but he didnt really dish out any punishment on the ground. At no point did it seem like he was going to finish Rampage in that round. If that was a 10-8 rd for Forrest I think rd 1 could of been 10-8 for Rampage. I think nearly finishing a fight should count for more than just controlling
your position. The last three rounds were very close. I gave 3 to Jackson because it seemed as though he hurt Forrest plus he opened up that nasty cut. I think 4 went to Forrest and honestly 5 could of went either way. I personally felt rampage won the fight although I can see how it went to Forrest. I really have no problem with Forrest winning I just don’t like that it was a unanimous decision. 49-46 is absolutely ridiculous! Rampage deserves better than losing that fight by a margin like that. I know Quinton said he got beat but he is a classy guy and I highly doubt he felt like he lost four rounds and especially that
first one. It seems like Forrest is the ufc’s poster boy since he helped bring the sport back into the mainstream, however if decisions like this continue the sport is going to lose a great deal of credibility. It was horrible desicions that made me stop watching boxing all together and I would hate to see mma go down the same path. The only highlight they had for Forrest was two leg kicks! Like I said Forrest could of won that fight I just feel the champion deserved more respect from the judges and should of been ahead on one scorecard. Also I hate how when a guy coaches for TUF he has such a long layoff. I think this hurts the champion because the other guy is going to be hungrier. Ten months was way too long for Rampage to have too wait to fight and I think it hurt him.

  • jwilly84us says:

How anyone could give Forest round 1 or 4 blows my mind. The first round Forest got tagged and was down and almost out. There is no way in hell the few leg kicks and jabs in the first round that Forest landed cancels out getting knocked on your ass and almost out. Then in the fourth round Forest gets knocked down again, the Quinton is in full guard landing shot and splitting Forest open, got caught in a submission and slams Forest to get out, but maintains control from the top. There is no way in hell Forest deserved to win that fight. Rampage is the uncrowned champion of the UFC. A rematch needs to be made for October. They did it with Courture/Lidell 2 & 3. they can sure the hell do it with Rampage/Griffin.

  • Dietrich says:

Forrest won, will he win a rematch is the issue. Forrest wasn’t going to be the fighter to Ko the champ. When he is on you just can’t slow him outside of a lucky punch. I think too many people have been watching Fightscience and Sportscience and believing these Rocky 4 esque demonstrations and making these fighters legends or demigods.Rampage is a top tier performer. The sad issue is one that I haven’t seen raised anywhere during this season of TUF. Dave Roberts. Roberts is the one who got Rampage started and now he is at the top how come Dave looked like he has been fighting for lunch money on skid row. He should have been in top form after having been through a couple of Jackson’s training campsif he was invited or could go. Am I saying this is Quentin’s responsibility not entirely. I do feel like we all need to help eachother when we can and this is one of those situations where we may never know what happened.

  • jwilly84us says:

Forest is not the best at 205, but because of the judges in vegas he is right now. Roy Silbert needs to lose his job as a judge. To not give Rampage the first round is complete garbage. I think this should raise a flag to UFC officals to the fact that he does not understand the sport enough to be a judge. Judges should be people who understand the stand-up game as well as the ground game. Roy Silbert clearly doesn’t understand any part of the sport of MMA. Dana needs to be sure that officials, such as Roy, stay far away from his organization or we have boxing in vegas all over again.

  • KOuch says:

    JWILLY,

Forrest won the first round. Watch the fight again. Forrest landed more kicks than Rampage did punches. Those kicks were more damaging than Rampages punches. Rampage connected ONE punch that knocked Forrest down when he was side stepping. Did Rampage G&P? NO! He threw one f-n punch that missed and Forrest was able to get up. Forrest must have been stronger than Rampage that night. I don’t understand the controversey over the first round. Everyone just watch it again…..then again if you have to. I swear to all midgets and dwarfs, Forrest clearly won the first round.

  • KOuch says:

It’s a new day and guess what everyone……FORREST WON THE FIRST ROUND!
