Heather Jo Clark has a new opponent now as Sophia Bagherdai (pictured) has been forced to bow out due to injury. Filling in for Bagherdai is Avery “Psycho” Vilche. XFC officials told MMAFrenzy of the change earlier today.
Vilche is taking the fight on short notice and is 2-1 in her last three fights. A veteran of the WMMA circuit, Vilche possesses a nasty armbar and will be looking to finish the fight.
XFC also confirmed the HDNet feature bout will remain at 120 pounds. XFC 18 takes place June 22 live from Nashville, Tennessee.
XFC President John Prisco said of the bout change:
“Avery Vilche is going to be a test for Heather. She takes the fight on late notice, but now Clark who has been preparing for Bagherdai the whole time may have to change her game plan. Vilche is so tough, she has the ability to take some punches and she really grinds it out with the ground game. She’s proven many times she’s capable of submitting or knocking out her opponent, so Heather is going to have a tough fight with her.”
