Strikeforce bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will defend her title against Sarah Kaufman August 18 live from San Diego, California. MMAFighting first reported the news.
Both fighters competed back in March at Strikeforce: “Tate vs. Rousey.” Rousey defeated Miesha Tate for the women’s bantamweight title with a gruesome armbar finish. While Kaufman mauled Alexis Davis on the way to her third straight victory since losing her title to Marloes Coenen.
The card will air Showtime.

I don’t know what it is, but Ronda rubs me the wrong way (no, not like that, dirty minds). She comes off very arrogant, referring to herself as if she’s God’s gift to men, and imo she is not that pretty. And the way she avoided Cyborg by dropping down a division because she didn’t want her “pretty” face smashed makes me laugh. I hope Kaufman smashes her.
Newfie – looks don’t mean a thing, she’s a legit fighter and thats all that matters. And I like some attitude in a fighter, regardless of gender – shows spirit.
Now, 1st round arm bar anyone?
Sorry, I didn’t mean looks meant anything, she’s a fighter, and a decent one, props to her for even getting in the cage, but she hasn’t been tested. It’s just some people like the attitude and I just happen to be one of those that doesn’t.
As for your prediction…you’re probably right, but I hope you’re wrong. I want to see Rousey in trouble, I want to see her punched in the face and see how she handles it…Is she really a fighter and can handle some pressure or will she fold?
I said this before about Jones and a couple others: what if the ability to not get hit is a skill that she has?
Who is this Miranda Tate that you speak of?
auto-correct is a b###h
Sarah is a seasoned veteran, very punishing on her feet and has only one loss from one mistake. This fight will be intense and Rousey better be ready to fight everywhere…she will get punched in the face.
