Ryan CoutureStrikeforce officials announced today that lightweights Ryan Couture and Joe Duarte will be squaring off on the impending Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy fight card.

Couture (4-1) will be looking to string together his third straight win, having rebounded from a unanimous decision loss to Matt Ricehouse in his third pro fight with two consecutive wins under the Strikeforce banner. Son to MMA legend Randy Couture, the 29-year-old most recently appeared in action at Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey this past March, where he earned a third-round TKO over Conor Heun.

Duarte (10-2) enjoys a five-fight winning streak heading into this fight with Couture, his last loss having happened in 2010. A former competitor on The Ultimate Fighter, Duarte hasn’t fought since August of last year when he took a unanimous decision over Jorge Gurgel at a Strikeforce Challengers event bearing their namesake.

Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy is set to take place on July 14 at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon and will feature two title fights: a match between Nate Marquardt and Tyron Woodley for the vacant welterweight belt and a battle between middleweight champ Luke Rockhold and Tim Kennedy.
