Alexander Gustafsson Out Until October With Broken Hand

Reports have Suggest that rising light heavyweight prospect Alexander Gustafsson is suffering from a broken hand that should keep him on the shelf until October.

Gustafsson, who recently posted a career-high win over Thiago Silva at UFC on Fuel TV in April, has looked nothing short of impressive in his six UFC victories. The Swede’s sole bump in the road came against highly touted Phil Davis, who is now “The Mauler’s” training partner.

Currently riding a five-fight win-streak, Gustafsson was looked at by many as the de facto opponent for Mauricio “Shogun” Rua after Thiago Silva pulled out of their UFC 149 bout. Unfortunately for the UFC, the young prospect joins a long list of light heavyweight contenders who have been sidelined with injuries.
