At last night’s post-fight press conference for The Ultimate Fighter: Live Finale, UFC officials announced the early gate and attendance information from the event.
According to the early tally, the event drew 1,628 attendees for a live gate of $195,250. Nevada State Athletic Commission officials will release the official number for the event later this month.
No word yet on how many of those attendees were given complimentary tickets.
The TUF: Live Finale saw top welterweights Martin Kampmann and Jake Ellenberger square off at the top of the card for the opportunity to vault themselves one level higher in the log-jammed 170lbs division. In the end, Kampmann was the man who got the job done, rallying from early trouble to come back and knock his opponent out.
In other action, Michael Chiesa completed this chapter of his inspirational story by submitting Al Iaquinta to become the latest Ultimate Fighter. Chiesa pushed through the untimely death of his father all the way to the finals, where he put Iaquinta out with a rear naked choke.
The TUF: Live Finale took place from the Pearl at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
