Mayhem Miller Released By The UFC After Backstage Incident

Jason Mayhem MillerUFC President Dana White has confirmed that Jason “Mayhem” Miller (23-9) is no longer with the promotion. While the president remained mum, he did confirm that there was some sort of backstage incident involving “Mayhem” which he described as “crazy bulls**t.”

Miller’s recent UFC run was less than stellar. After losing his promotional debut via TKO to Michael Bisping last December in a unanimously panned performance, MIller, who was ostensibly suffering from some sort of knee injury, once again put on a tepid performance in tonight’s outing against C.B. Dollaway. According to white, Miller’s performances, coupled with his antics and this alleged incident, are the reason the popular fighter is no longer under contract.

Forget the backstage incident; forget the knee issue. He looked so over his head and in such poor cardiovascular shape in his last two appearances that he would have been gone regardless. This just made the decision easier for the UFC.

I agree, his Poor cardio ,and his lack of being able to keep his mouth shut, with his tongue in it, has now cost him. Jason was aware of his poor physical shape before hand, and did little to prepare, for an important career changing turning point.Great Decision!

Was thinking the same thing. It is his 3rd fight in the UFC and his 3rd loss. Sure one was to GSP but whateva.

Hardy won and miller got cut

What was the incident? Throwing stuff around? Pushing the post fight doctors away??
    Anyone know?

  • Mikemac says:

I guess he did talk too much. CB really needs to clean up is striking and take a bjj class or 2.
Miller looked like he had an MCL tape job on his knee which would explain some of his horrible ground game.

I wonder if it had to do with the jon jones/16yr old brittney thing on twitter. She drove Jones’ Bentley back in october, and took a couple pics with him. She works at the Y. After the Jones car crash, he name came up as sleeping with him, but she is just a fan. Mayhem twated something like “in 2 years ill let you drive my audi, 1 year in alabama”. Pretty funny, but she got famous for a day or two for being a slut.

So wat did he do backstage?

  • devin says:

It’s too bad he’s performed so poorly in the UFC, I really like mayhem. That was not the same guy I saw who barely lost a close decision to shields not long ago.

I feel it’s a mistake to cut him. he was very out of shae against bisping, here he look strong and ripped too. whether you hate excuses or not, he seemed to be hampered by the knee – not trying to get up, hobbling, it seemed obvious me. props to CB but honestly it looked like with a good knee he would have outclassed CB. just the way it looked to me the whole fight. it made me think of shogun’s loss to forrest (cardio or knee it’s irrelevant) he’s got great skills chin power well roundedness. i’ll watch him whatever league he’s in. i’m also wondering about the antics

was thinking the same exact thing while watching the fight. mayhem rocked him and had him doin the stank leg with both legs in round 1 & 2. and I’m also with u on the not giving excuses aspect but, not only was his knee double wrapped, why does nobody mention that during the break between rounds that Joe slowed down a reply of when mayhem slapped the guilotine on CB you clearly see mayhem’s leg get caught up between the mat and CB. if his knee was at all injured that easily would have made it worse. long story short… sad to see him go.

as they were going to the matt

I don’t care what anyone says, hes entertaining to watch!

  • russiandoeboi says:

the abruptness of his dismissal , combined with the fact that no one is mentioning what happened backstage has me wondering what UFC Brass thought of his walkout attire. what was he saying with that combat attire thing. maybe it was just intended as a harmless analogy to cagefighting but it made me wonder if it was political, and that’s why he was cut even. i mean 2 losses to good guys – the last nites on a shitty knee even – doesn’t seem to make sense

  • devin says:

    @Russian and Cele

I agree its not exactly an excuse but more of a reason, with it being such an obvious disadvantage. Also I don’t think it was such poor fighting that he needed to get cut just for that alone, so I’m interested to.hear what happened. For some reason I just feel Dana has something against mayhem and I really don’t know what it is..but I’ll end.up watching him wherever he goes. He’s one of the few fighters who actually is about as big as the UFC, he’ll be all right. And on that note, kiss mayhem’s a$$ UFC.
