Jesse Taylor vs. CB Dollaway Added To UFC Fight Night 14

Jesse TaylorJesse Taylor, who was ousted from The Ultimate Fighter 7 finals following an alcohol-fueled Las Vegas rampage, will make his UFC debut against TUF 7 finalist CB Dollaway at UFC Fight Night 14 on July 19th in Las Vegas.

MMAJunkie.com confirmed the rumored matchup yesterday.

Taylor (6-2) won his way into the finals of the reality series with wins over Nick Rossborough, Mike Dolce, Dante Rivera, and Tim Credeur but was removed from the competition by UFC President Dana White after he kicked out the window of a limousine, frightened several women, and failed to cooperate with security at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino, which is owned by UFC owners Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta.

Dollaway (6-1), an All-American wrestler at Arizona State University, posted victories over David Baggett, Nick Klein, and Cale Yarbrough to advance to The Ultimate Fighter 7 semifinals where he was defeated by Amir Sadollah via third-round armbar. Following Taylor’s removal from the finals, Dollaway defeated Tim Credeur in a second-chance semifinal to earn a rematch with Sadollah in the finals. In the final bout at The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale on June 21st, Sadollah again submitted Dollaway via first-round armbar to win the middleweight tournament.

“Without a doubt, the kid (Taylor) deserves another chance,” White recently told Yahoo! Sports, adding that Taylor has enrolled in Alcoholics Anonymous. “He made himself look like a fool, and he’s aware of that, but everyone deserves another opportunity and we’re going to give it to him. He acted like a moron. He’s embarrassed by it, which he should be, but what he did doesn’t amount to enough to ban him forever. Come on. He was just young and stupid, but at least he seems to have learned from what he did.”

Anderson Silva will make his light heavyweight debut in the UFC Fight Night 14 main event against James Irvin. Brandon Vera vs. Reese Andy, Hermes Franca vs. Frank Edgar, and Anthony Johnson vs. Kevin Burns are also slated for the main card of the Spike TV event.

after taylor wins, he’ll get drunk at the after-party and go on a wild rampage in the hotel and get kicked outta the ufc again!

  • Pete90 says:

man this is going to be such a boring fight

  • Cole Miller says:

They should of just put D-bag VS D-bag as the title for this article…

  • Pete90 says:

taylor jus lies on people for 15 minutes and so does c.b. who ever looses is out of the ufc in my opinion

  • Dave, Md says:

Jesse is a boring fighter , I hope he loses

  • joel b says:

they both blow i believe this wlll be a career ending fight for one of these guys but i guess dana cant bash his own brand by chucking guys he selected right out of the ufc folowing their first losses in the ufc well second if cb loses.

the card is looking alright i am a fan of anthony rumble johnson he is a quick and exciting fighter its nice to see him back in the mix he is a little cocky though

  • joel b says:

who is reese andy anyway i am sure it will be a nice strectching for vera at 205

  • joel b says:

d bag vs dbag is very appropriate!

  • Pete90 says:

brandon vera has taken an easy way out he turned down wandy and hendo

  • joel b says:

that franca and edgar fight should be quick and fast paced

  • Pete90 says:

i dont think edgar is big enough for 155 he got dominated by maynard. Edgar is a good wrestler and Hermes struggled against Jamie Varner who is also a good wrestler. Ive got edgar winning this by decision

  • hamsterwheel1307 says:

i can’t wait 2 c hermes return..and against frankie edgar!!!!!!! if anderson silva is moving up to 205, and george st. pierre is moving up to 185 it’s going to be confusing for anyone to get a title shot. Especially now that BJ penn also wants to fight george lol

  • Pete90 says:

    is st.pierre moving to 185?

  • il0VECb says:

CB is an amazing fighter so f*** all of u who say he sucks. jt deserves another chance. this is gonna be a sick fight

  • FixXeR says:

I dont really care to see this…..gonna be a hugging fest.

  • Lord Mark says:

St. Pierre Talked about moving up to 185 but he also said he would like to eventually fight at 205 as well. That’s way in the future though. First he needs to fight Fitch. That’s gonna be an awesome fight.

  • Pete90 says:

damn st pierre at 205?? couldnt anderson make 170?

  • JAI says:

It’s good to see Dana being a nice guy for a change by giving Jt another chance. Although, I agree that JT is boring and I hate watching him fight as well, but he does deserve another chance. I do hope CB wins the fight though.

  • Pete90 says:

if CB can sort out some submission defence he would be pretty dangerous at 185

  • rutdog says:

I went to a funeral the other week and saw this match. There was hugging, and crying, then more hugging. At the funeral there wasn’t a decision, but there will be here. Sad but true.

  • Dirty says:

I knew they would bring him back……didn’t think it would be this quick though !

  • Dietrich says:

In time like these I am glad to see Dana show restraint and not really speak hims mind on this issue.

  • Pete90 says:

jesse was good entertainment in the house but no in the cage, y bring him back hees so boring

  • Curtis says:

I can’t believe this at all. So much for standing against the thug attitude of the sport.

This aggravates me. After what happened in the last show of season 7 he should have to fight elsewhere before getting a ticket to the show.

  • Rydawg says:

    JT$ by overwhelming ignorance…(yawn!)

  • Jason N. says:

Should be an ok fight….sure could be boring… but you never know…Im glad to see JT back, though I didnt like 1 of his fights…but the fact is…he didnt LOSE….so let him fight until he does…

Oh..and I capitalized LOSE because I have to get this off my chest…people….when you post… please use the word LOSE not LOOSE….seriously.. i dont know why it bugs me, but everytime I see people post on each story..its rare someone actually spells that word right…he is not loosing the fight…its not a lugnut… come on :)

  • 2girls2cups says:

i actually like CB now, i hated him up until about 3 days ago when i read a blog he put out. he basically said he was really ashamed of his actions and gave amir full respect for winning the show. i don’t like when people are dbags like that (i.e. bisping) but i’m fully capapble of giving someone a 2nd chance when they take responsibility and apoligize. not to promote another site, but if anyone wants to read it, it’s on mma.junkie. for a cocky 24 year old kid, he’s actually a pretty mature dude. if he holds to his word and takes somethin away from that last experience, i can see this guy goin pretty far in the sport.

  • KOuch says:

This is a good fight for wrestling fans. I see more upside for CB’s future if he works on some submission defense and G&P. JT on the other hand, I am very unsure. He seems very strong but obviously has some personal issues. That drunken rampage is part of his personality and not funny or a joke. Acting that way is a flaw in a person and will only hold them back. I know from experience. Truth be told, I once did almost the same exact thing in Vegas as JT. That’s another story but the point is, I doubt JT’s personality will ever help him evolve into a better fighter. He deserves a second chance but I feel it is too soon. On the other hand, another promotion would sign him and use his TUF fame as a promo tool. All I can say is JT needs to start bangin’ rather than taking guys down and laying on them. His fights have not been very exciting aside from his strength. Overall JT is boring and I think he is a risk to have on the roster this soon.

  • Dave, Md says:

who ever loses will be out of the UFC…

  • joel b says:

i say these losers through on some headgear and singlets and get this on the way they would like too lol

to cb defense amir has a pretty sick jits game and its got to be hard to defend but its pretty sad that cb got caught 2 with the same sumission a better match up would have been the resident blackbelt in the house and as much as i cant stand him tim creduer

  • JW says:

What a Fight ufc 89 Thiago Alves VS> Diego Sanchez, Yahoo.com.

While the welterweight division looks toward a championship match in August between current titleholder Georges St. Pierre and Jon Fitch, the weight class will continue to build toward a new top contender as MMAWeekly.com has learned that American Top Team knockout artist Thiago “Pitbull” Alves is slated to return on Oct. 19 to face former “Ultimate Fighter” winner Diego Sanchez.

The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the fight. There is currently a verbal agreement with actual bout agreements for the contest expected to be signed in the next few days.

  • JW says:

DIdn’t know where to post this but I hate Diego so this will be his beat down (Co-Main Event) IF all stays the same. Although both men were very inpressive in each of there last wins, great fight to be.

  • KOuch says:

    JW,

Just curious, why do you hate Diego? I’ve never been a big fan of Diego because his personality reminds me of a human Chucky the little red headed doll possesed. I’m still disappointed with Alves for not making weight against Hughes. Hopefully they both bleed and Alves wins.

  • Tspence says:

    blanket vs blanket
im sorry but i know wrestling is an obviously big part of the mma game but come on are we trying to run the clock on fight nights?

  • SiMonsterD says:

    Hmmmm….

    BORING!

  • jpm says:

Potentially very boring, but I think with both fighters having something to prove for different reasons, this could be a good one. What the f*ck am I talking about !!! Taylor by laborious unanimous decision

  • hamsterwheel1307 says:

    JT$ (it looks like a faucet……
god damn it, it’s a money sign gosh!!!

  • YZFOXRACING says:

THIS WILL BE ONE FIGHT THAT WHEN I COMES ON I WILL SWITCH THE CHANNEL TO WATCH COMMERCIALS ON TV…

I CAN’T BELIEVE DANA BROUGHT HIM BACK. “BORING”

  • Rydawg says:

this fight would only be awesome if they double ko’d each other that would be sweet then everyone gets what they want 2 idiots KTFO…

  • JOHNBOY says:

taylor is boring to watch but the guy nos how to win fights like him or not, i like the guy and think him will kick c.b’s butt i also thnk he would of beat amir, i hink hes guna be round for a long time unless he gets drunk an f*cks it up again, i get the feeling u americans cant handle ur drink haha ;)

  • Dietrich says:

    Johnboy,
We can’t… which is why we use to make it in the hills and load it in cars to ferry it away from those darn revenuers! :)

  • Dietrich says:

NC(and NASCAR)= Thunder Road with Robert Mitchum

  • graciebaja says:

I’d like to know why Jesse and Amir aren’t fighting! That was supposed to be the deal anyway. Plus I’d love to watch that caveman get caught in one of Amir’s armbars.

  • Joe Tatman says:

cb is the best i went to school with him at NORTHMOR and he is a strong man jt better sober up because he is in for a real ohio whipping

  • Curtis says:
