Paul Taylor, a three-time fight of the night bonus winner, seems to have been forced out of this forthcoming lightweight bout against Anthony Njokuani at UFC on Fuel 4: Munoz vs. Weidman. It has been reported that Taylor has sustained an injury, yet neither what it is nor is its severity has been made clear.
The Brit has not stepped into the octagon since blowing Gabe Ruediger out of the water with a vicious head kick at UFC 126 last year, largely due to a string of unfortunate injuries. Ironically, this is the second time that a proposed tilt between Taylor and Njokuani has fallen by the wayside.
Stepping in for the Brit will be Brazilian jiu jitsu ace Rafael Dos Anjos, who a mere seven short days ago obliterated the always-game Kamal Shalorus in just 1:40.
With both contestants sporting 2-1 records in their last three bouts, this match promises a slight righting of the ship to the winner, who will have strung together a pair of victories, but sends the other continuing along the up-and-down path that has plagued both of their UFC careers thus far.
