UFC 148 Update: Chael Sonnen Granted Conditional Therapeutic Use Exemption

The Nevada State Athletic Commission met today to rule on whether Chael Sonnen would be granted a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) for testosterone. The commission ruled that Sonnen would be granted a conditional TUE ahead of UFC 148.
The commission ruled that Sonnen will have to have additional testing the night after the fight. Sonnen will also be required to stop taking injections within a to be determined time period prior to the fight.
Chael Sonnen will face off against Anderson Silva in a rematch of their UFC 117 bout. Sonnen lost the first bout via triangle after dominating the entire fight. UFC 148 takes place July 7 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Yeah, the Rogan podcast exposes the real side of Sonnen…and guess what it reveals? He’s an egotistical, half witted dick- just like everybody thought he was.

i was wondering about the rescheduling of the brazil fight, because even if i believed the security was an issue real enough to change location – (which frankly i don’t) ….
i couldn’t think of any reason to actually post pone the fight date – other than to help him with his testosterone ‘therapy’.

The fight had to be rescheduled because of the summit…riots breakout like crazy and they pretty well need every authority figure on deck for those…it has nothing to do with Americans favoring Chael.
the summit – logically then, why not change location but keep the date then?
Brazil doesn’t have an AC. At least in Nevada he is being monitored for compliance with proper therapeutic use.

Calm down. A few other fighters go through this process as well, Dan Henderson for one and Nate Marquardt as well. If you paid attention to the article it states that he must submit a drug test after the fight, to measure for reasonable levels of Testosterone of course, and stop getting injections at a certain date before the fight so he’s on normal levels. It doesn’t mean he’s roiding up, just making it a fair fight on his behalf. Say what you will about his body, but not everyone’s is the same.
this really does not mean anything, unlike last time his levels will not be sky high during his post fight tests. He will have to quit ahead and have stop taking the injections before hand so I think that this fight is gonna be more fair.
