John Alessio Undergoes Surgery To Repair Broken Right Arm

John AlessioJohn Alessio has undergone successful surgery on his right arm to repair a broken bone sustained in a bout against Pete Spratt on June 20th, according to The Fight Network.

Despite the injury, Alessio defeated Spratt via second-round rear naked choke at the Banner Promotions’ “Night of Combat” event in Las Vegas.

“I had a plate put in to fuse my broken ulna back together. It’ll stay in my forearm forever,” Alessio told The Fight Network. “The doctor said I should be back to training in about four weeks… I tell you, it hurt like hell. I knew I had to hold on and finish him or I’d be in trouble. I would have had to finish the fight with one arm.”
