John Alessio has undergone successful surgery on his right arm to repair a broken bone sustained in a bout against Pete Spratt on June 20th, according to The Fight Network.
Despite the injury, Alessio defeated Spratt via second-round rear naked choke at the Banner Promotions’ “Night of Combat” event in Las Vegas.
“I had a plate put in to fuse my broken ulna back together. It’ll stay in my forearm forever,” Alessio told The Fight Network. “The doctor said I should be back to training in about four weeks… I tell you, it hurt like hell. I knew I had to hold on and finish him or I’d be in trouble. I would have had to finish the fight with one arm.”

Right on…a true warrior.
I’m not a big fan of Alessio but that’s gutsy right there.
I did not know he did that! WOW!!! If my arm broke I would just cry my way right into the emergency room like a little ****.
i would think that it would have to be a severed rear naked choke but that would require him to actually choke him with the broken arm. nuts !!!!
Man that free event in Vegas is starting to have a level of brutality that hasn’t been seen since the IVC…
That is very impressive man! This guy is really tough to grind through the pain of a broken armand finish his opponent with a rear naked choke. That’s really impressive!
Banner Promotion is a boxing promoting company. I didn’t know they were trying to get into the MMa game as well.
