I can’t imagine why Tompkins (o-4) would want to compete in MMA again. He’s been TKO’d all four times, and has only gotten older.

OMG Finally he signed with someone, everybody wanted his 0-4 record so bad.Nowadays losing 4 straight loses is better than winning them, just ask patrick cote! Shawns going to be future champion in sport. lololololol

  • joel b says:

    those who cant do teach!

he sounds like an awesome coach working with the cream of the crop i dont believe he needs to fight in less its a hobby or something.

and what the crap is the xfa?

  • Dietrich says:

Its news because he is a name. Probably one of the best names the XFA has under contract.

  • Felix UK says:

Shawn is an awesome Coach and great guy. I imagine he’s been working on his past weaknesses and I really hope he does well with this.

  • rutdog says:

Great, thanks so much Dieterick, I had no idea he was a big time coach and that was how he is a name. Oh, yes I did, because I just read the article, too.

  • JAI says:

I don’t much about this guy at all, but if he’s trained all of those big named guys, I would assume that he should be a really good striker. According to you guys, although this guy sounds like he has good Muay Thai skills, he struggles in “MMA”. Hopefully he has worked on and gotten better at his total MMA game and will be more well rounded.

  • Dietrich says:

Rutdog what I meant was the XFA doesn’t have a big pull yet so the announcement was big in that Tompkins’s name has been in the press before…Like running Xtreme Couture team and stepping in for Bas as coach on IFl when he went to the mic. The XFA is hoping you are diehard enough to link him to those past events and pluck down the cash to watch him fight.

  • Chris Kimmerly says:

Before you start to criticize him take a look at when those prior MMA bouts took place. It was back when MMA was very very new to Canada. It was also during a time before he had a ground game. Since training with and coaching the likes of Rutten, Silva, Stout, Hominick, Henderson, Ryo Chonan, Baroni, need I go on, I am sure he can handle himself just fine.
