The UFC held its first ever event in Sweden earlier this month with UFC on Fuel TV 2: Gustafsson vs. Silva, which went down at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm.
All twenty-four fighters who competed on the card were tested by the Swedish Mixed Martial Arts Federation and all of them passed their tests, according to the UFC’s vice president of regulatory and government affairs, Marc Ratner.
MMAWeekly first reported the news.
In the night’s main event, Sweden’s own Alexander Gustafsson raised his stock in the light heavyweight division with a dominant performance over the returning Thiago Silva. Gustafsson bested Silva for the majority of their three round battle to earn a unanimous decision victory.
In the night’s co-main event, middleweight sluggers Brian Stann and Alessio Sakara threw down, with Stann getting back in the win column by separating Sakara from consciousness with ground and pound in the first round.
UFC on Fuel TV 2 went down on April 14.
