UFC on Fuel TV 2 Bonuses: Bahadurzada, Maguire, Pickett, and Page earn $50K

UFC President Dana White announced in the UFC on Fuel TV 2 post-fight press conference that Siyar Bahadurzada, John Maguire, Brad Pickett, and Damacio Page all earned $50,000 for their performances in Stockholm, Sweden.

Bahadurzada earned “knockout of the night” for his one-punch walk off knockout of Paulo Thiago. The win marked a successful UFC debut for the Afghani fighter, and was his seventh win in a row. Siyar’s last loss was at middleweight to former UFC fighter Jorge Santiago.

John Maguire earned “submission of the night” for an absolutely brilliant submission of DaMarques Johnson. Maguire executed the perfect counter to a kimura by rotating into an armbar. The move was reminiscent of Matt Hughes UFC 50 victory over Georges St-Pierre.

Brad Pickett and Damacio Page earned “fight of the night” for their exciting brawl to open the card. The back and forth battle hinged on Pickett rocking Page in the second. Pickett quickly capitalized by taking Page’s back before sinking in a fight-ending rear-naked choke.

Bahadurzada and Picket were impressive and Alexander looked like Jon Jones with better boxing but he doesnt have the wrestling to contend.

Can people stop saying Gustafson looks like Jon jones , y because he is also tall ?, it was soo obvious to me that Goldie was trying to sell that last night , he compared him to Jon jones about ten times during the fight
. They were def trying to sell the fans on jones vs Gustafson last night

I don’t want to see Gustaffson vs Bones yet, first I’d like to see him get a few more wins. Rua, Machida, Bader, or Davis would be my thoughts. Any could be tough fights for the Swede.

At some point (after 145) (and assuming Jones wins) there may not be any other contenders who are on a win streak. Then it will be Gustaffson’s turn.

        @ bsbiz,
I get what you’re saying, not a whole lot of contenders right now and his turn is soon. I’m just thinking about other factors here, starting with the LHW title…Jones vs Evans is of course set for this coming weekend. Dana has said Dan Henderson is fighting for a title in his next fight, with UFC Rio already 2 months away and facing delays, barring injuries Dan will probably fight the winner of Jones/Evans in (at least) 3 to 4 months. All this Leaves Gustafsson out of action for quite some time if he’s sitting around waiting for a title shot.
