i hope tanner can take that money and sort himself out a bit. its pretty hard watching him looking like a shell of what he once was. his timing and balance have been awful in his last 2 fights.
bet thats the easiest 8 grand credeur an yarbrough have ever made. its a bit harsh on kimmons winning an only getting six grand ide be p i s s e d if i was him.
well six grand would do me nicely now get on holiday haha
I DNT UNDERSTAND WHY TIM AND YALE STILL GOT PAID.
Cale received his base pay because it was something he had no control over. This is common, especially when someone withdraws from a bout and a replacement cannot be found their opponent often still receives their base pay.
Tim received is base pay because he has a legitimate medical reason for using the drug, was upfront about his use, and stopped taking it in advance hoping it would clear his system but unfortunately it did not.
kris,
so he has a prescription? i haven’t heard this.
“legitimate medical reason” implies a prescription.
Yes, he has been quoted in an interview I read elsewhere saying that he was written a prescription for this shortly after the show. Apparently, he has been dealing with ADD or ADHD for a while though.
Yes, Adderall is a prescription drug and, as I understand it, Credeur had a prescription to use the drug, most likely for ADHD. If he did not have a prescription he likely wouldn’t have altered the NSAC of his using it and he would have received some form of punishment but he didn’t.
So Tim has a legitimate noncommunicable disease which is being controlled by medicine prescribed by a doctor. Than why was the fight cancelled?
it’s not like he had neck herpes.
I like Tim….I hope the best for him and look foward to seeing his fights in the future! Its to bad this happend, I bet he felt really bad. Its not like he was using steroids.
adhd is not a disease… it is a disorder. i have taken adderall on and off for years.
“[Adderall] acts as a cardio-vascular restrictor and that’s the main reason it’s banned because it can cause athletes to have a cardiac episode with the stress they’re under when they’re in an athletic competition. Secondly, it can have a performance-enhancing effect as well,†NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer told UFC.com. “Unfortunately, the drug was still in his system and he’s still positive, so he was unable to get cleared to fight. “It should be out of his system in a few days and hopefully they’ll find another fight for him.â€
there is a HUGE weight cutting advantage to using Adderall… you can easily lose 20 lbs in 3 days on it.
not that i am implying that he was using adderall to get an unfair advantage… just stating a fact.
I think they should use that format ( $$$ to show + $$$ IF win )in boxing too…it would probably make the fights more excitig.
Thanks for the drug tip. I was wondering what the big deal was.
these guys that are new to the UFC are lovin their pay cause in the smaller shows they dont make much my brother fights in the small ones and gets only 300 show and 300 win bonus so 6 grand is nice for them however i dont believe that cale or tim actually showed fight night so i dont think they should get paid.
but hey who Im I to say thats dana job.
Decent pay for all fighters but the TUF finalists. While CB didn’t deserve a better payout even if he did win…Amir should have gotten more than he did just for making it that far. As much money as they make off that show $8000 base pay is bullsh*t.
This plus the $10,000 for each fight that was finished on the show, which was all three for Amir, not bad for just a few months.
Yeah that’s true. Amir has made $46K in just about 4 months, and now signed for the next few years. Nice way to be introduced to Pro MMA. 2-0 record, and $46,000, not quite the Brock Lesnar 1-1, with $300,000, but hey he’s getting there.
Youve got to figure taxes are gonna take 40% and trainer/gym fees etc another 25% at least.. these guys end up with very little. The guys making 8k probably only bring home 2k at best.
That’s why they have to get the sponsorship deals. Otherwise, paydays are just not worth it.
Only the base rate would be taxed tho right? Isn’t prize money non taxable?
I like Amir but I don’t think he can hang w the 185 crowd…he def ain’t no Diego or Forest Griffin…well he has the heart like forest but not the skill or athleticism…I guess we’ll see when he starts fighting real fighters like marquadt, bisping, leben, franklin…I mean does anybody else see him beating these guys…ever?
HEY COLE I DON’T SEE HIM FIGHTING THEM ANYWAY… I THINK HE’LL MOVE DOWN IN WIEGHT.
even if he does move down…that’s almost worse..sanchez, fitch, alves, gsp, hughes, parisyan, koscheck…good luck Amir..you’ll need it
YOUR SAYING NOTHING BUT TOP 10 FIGHTERS. COME ON YOU AND I BOTH KNOW HE AINT GONNA FIGHT TOP 10 FIGHTER ANYTIME SOON. I THINK HE CAN DO GOOD IN WW
I said he won’t be no sanchez or griffin…they fight top 10 …I dunno he’s proved everyone wrong so far….But what about anthony johnson…do you think he could beat him>? and by no means is he a top 10 fighter…
NATE DIAZ HASN’T FOUGHT ANYONE IMPORTANT REALLY EITHER. AND HES DOING JUST FINE. AMIR WILL DO GOOD MAN.
I hope he does, hes got a good attitude….only time will tell…nate diaz also has excellent bjj tho…the fight with kurt pellegrino was pretty tight…
