Jason “Mayhem” Miller vs. C.B. Dollaway set for UFC 146

Jason Mayhem MillerA middleweight bout between Jason “Mayhem” Miller and C.B. Dollaway has been set for UFC 146. Miller tweeted the news yesterday before UFC.com confirmed the match up.

Miller last fought in December at the Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale against fellow TUF 14 coach Michael Bisping. Miller had his best round in the first but struggled as the fight wore on and eventually lost via TKO in the third.

TUF 7 veteran C.B. Dollaway will be looking to break a two-fight losing streak against Miller. Dollaway was finished by Jared Hamman at UFC Live: Hardy vs. Lytle and Mark Munoz at UFC Live: Sanchez vs. Kampmann.

The bout will take place at UFC 146 in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC 146 is expected to be headlined by a UFC heavyweight title bout between champion Junior Dos Santos and former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem.

So.happy to see mayhem fight again in the ufc. The fight with bisping was disgusting, but anyone who’s seen him fight before knows he’s very skilled. And fun.to watch. I met him at a bar in Hollywood last year and we shot the s*** for like 2 hours. A real nice guy in person. And effin hilarious. I wish he’d drop down to 170 but apparently he is dead set against it.

Miller better be in great shape or he’s out.

As bad as Miller looked against Bisping, I hope he is the catalyst for Dollaway’s release. C.B. is 5-4 against mediocre competition with 2 straight KO/TKO losses – Munoz is the only name he has fought and he got KTFO in the first minute of the fight. People have this perception that Dollaway is great (or even above average) because he was portrayed favorably on TUF. Sadollah owned him twice and even Amir has proved to be a fairly middle of the road fighter. It’s time for CB to find his way over to Strikeforce where he can compete, and I hope that a motivated Miller will be the one to do it. I’m calling submission R2.

    Yes!!
I’ve been hoping ‘mayhem’ would get another chance. I agree with Devin he’s better than we saw against Bisping and I have a feeling we’ll see that when he faces off with CB.

If miller don’t blow all his energy on his walk out he might stand a chance..im betting CB takes this fight in the 2nd myself

  • Brent says:

Hopefully with the UFC Gitters out of the way miller will be able to keep a calm mind a work his BJJ agains Dollaway.

If mayhem loses, he is gone or he drop to 170

    • Advent says:

He can’t drop to 170. He already said that to Ariel Helwani when he first started his “Dont be scared, homie” stuff towards Nick Diaz. He said when he got that low to face GSP, he was way too drained and weak and I think he even went to the hospital for it afterwards.

    Mediocre fight with mediocre fighters.

  • Devin says:

Mediocre comment by someone with mediocre knowledge of mayhem.

Let’s hope Jason steps up to his abilities and doesn’t sh*t the bed again. His last outing was downright depressing to watch.

    • Advent says:

it really was. It looked like he was lunging (spelling? brain fart at the moment) his punches at Mike. And ducking his when while doing it. But not even the smart way, it was prime real estate for a well-timed uppercut. Bisping just never saw it.

Either way, he needs to fight like he did against Shields. @ more seconds and he would have beat Shields.

  • Devin says:

Ya I figured he was pretty well set against dropping down. I’ve watched him for years, the guy is really a wizard when he get going. No excuses, cuz you cannot blame adrenaline dump, but that is what happened. He did lose and that’s that. But It’s so inexplicable as he has fought in ufc before, and in front as many people in Japan. For some reason the hype really got to him against bisping, but I look forward to him showing his dominant capabilities against cb.

Because advent, then people would always scramble back and change their posts ;)

  • Mayhem will raise to the occusation. Putting his career on the line puts alot of pressure on him, Pressure is good. He will deliver, he will rise. CB is not a good fighter. Mayhem shall suceed. Im counting on it…. But i hope i am not mistaken. I talked alot of ISH on the Bisping fight. (because Bisping sucks) and i got a -_- look for it. Now is the time for the monkeys to show their support for Mayhem. Now is the time to motivate this man.
