UFC 88 “Liddell vs. Evans” Officially Announced
On Monday the UFC officially announced UFC 88 “Liddell vs. Evans,” which will take place on September 6th at the 19,000-seat Philips Arena in Atlanta.
Headlining the pay-per-view event is a bout between top 205-pound contenders Rashad Evans and former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell. The bout was originally to headline UFC 85 earlier this month in London, England but was called off after Liddell suffered a torn hamstring.
The winner of the bout will likely receive a light heavyweight title shot.
Evans (11-0-1), the Ultimate Fighter 2 heavyweight winner, last fought in November, defeating Michael Bisping via split decision at UFC 78.
Liddell (21-5) rebounded from back-to-back losses with a unanimous decision win over rival Wanderlei Silva at UFC 79 in December.
Tickets for the event will go on sale to UFC Fight Club members on Wednesday, June 18th beginning at 10am ET. UFC newsletter subscribers can then purchase tickets beginning Friday, June 20th at 10am ET using the presale password “ICEMAN”. Finally, tickets will go on sale to the general public at 10am ET on Saturday, June 21st. Tickets for UFC 88 “Liddell vs. Evans” can be purchased through Ticketmaster.com.

I really hope Chuck wins but I do not like him matching up against Ramapage again should that end up being the case. My hope is the next title fight will be Chuck and Forrest only because I want both of them to win their upcoming fights. I really do not care to see Rashad vs Rampage at all…..but I would watch with extreme excitement.
Rashad is always 2% better than anyone he has fought (boring as gets)!i know he isn’t a better striker than Chuck and i don’t think he can take Chuck down either! I think it shoud be rashad vs macheda and instead of fighting they should have a staring contest!
I just don’t see Rashad getting knocked out by Chuck, and really Chuck hasn’t had the best of luck with decisions lately. I think Forrest is going to get KOed in the second. I hope I’m wrong, but that’s how I see it.
Chuck wins by decision. Rampage wins by KO. Then Rampage wins by KO again.
I REALLY THINK WERE GONNA SEE FORREST THE UNDERDOG AGAIN BEAT RAMPAGE. AND CHUCK IS GONNA “KNOCK OUT” RASHAD. AND I WANT TO SEE FORREST BEAT CHUCK. BUT IT SUCKS WERE GOING CAMPING ON THE RAMPAGE AND FOREST FIGHT. “IM GONNA MISS IT”
I can’t see either Rashad or Forrest getting to the end of their respective fights, I hope i’m right. I think the LH division is a bit weird at the moment, I believe the title will rotate between Chuck, Wand & Rampage. I can’t see Chuck ever beating Rampage, nor Rampage ever beating Wand, nor Wand ever beating Chuck. Bisping should step back up to LH and knock them all out!!

Keyword…LIKELY….which means if Chuck wins, he will get a title shot…if Rashad wins, he will have to fight someone else probably….bc thats how Dana does things…I mean…look at Jardine.. he beat Chuck…did he get a title shot?! Nope..
I just dont see Rashad beating Chuck…bc his strength is wrestling, but good luck taking Chuck down…he will get ko’d or tko’d…. I doubt Forrest will make it out of Round 1 with Rampage.. so we will see another Chuck/Rampage in Jan prob…but the other possible fights in that class will be amazing… Rua, Thiago Silva, Wanderlie Silva, Machida, etc….a lot of great fights coming up this yr….not to mention they are throwing Vera in that class now…I think he will have success…he was too small for Heavyweight…

There are guys I think Forrest can beat…Rampage is not one of them…he is too big…too powerful for Forrest…He is not explosive enough to overwhelm Rampage….

If Wand fights Chuck again, Wand will win. He could have won last time, he just didn’t look like the same Wand that beat’s azz on a regular basis for whatever reason. The true Wand showed up against Jardine, and if he continues to show up, he will beat Chuck, but then lose to Rampage.

So your theory is that since Rashad has never been knocked out, that he never will? Who had seen Randy knocked out prior to Chuck. Can’t just assume that every fighter who has yet to be KO’d never will.

t had a good fight since he got knocked out by Rampage. If you call Liddel vs Wand a good fight for Chuck, I can only partly agree. Too much respect being shown by both fighters. Chuck will be grounded by Evans and ride out a decision. I don’t know why ever one hear seems to hate Evans and Rampage…hmm.
Rampage vs Forrest is going to be a great fight. Forrest can’t stop Rampage but Forrest has so much heart that he will not be walked over by Rampage either. I expect a war. Liddell vs. Evans will be a dissappointing fight and likely pretty boring. Then Chuck will knock out Wand and get a title shot anyway.
Come to think of it. How the hell is Chuck in title contention? He lost 2 of 3 fight and the last went to decision with two knock out artist. The guy is done.
I agree Chuck isnt fighting like he used to… I still think hes gonna knock out Evans though… Evans hasnt fought anybody like him, and even if Chuck isnt at the top of his game I still say he can pull off a knock out with Evans!
There is no way Chuck should get another shot at Rampage even if he wins. There are too many fighters i’d like to see match up against him, including Wand again. If by some miracle Griffin beats Rampage, and Chuck wins, then I could see why they’d do Chuck vs Griffin. But not Chuck vs Rampage.

Chuck better hope the UFC adopts a standup only division bc he is not an MMA fighter. He is Kimbo Slice with excellent take down defense. All stand up. No submissions (hell even Kimbo has a tap out on his record) no grappling, no dirty boxing, no clinch, nothing but boxing. And he is nothing but a boxer
In terms of wins and losses, yes. Fighters can get better, or old, and outcomes can be totally different. Because a certain fighter beat some other fighter in the past doesn’t mean he should beatthe next guy.
But you can look at a guys track record and have a good idea how a fight will go.

Hendo should’ve and almost beat rampage by keeping him on the ground..i think forrest will come out on top if he avoids the shots and takes it to the ground…and i don’t see wandy lossing another one any time soon…evens looses his first fight to chuck…second round KO!!!
