Oops didn’t see this before making my comments on Nick not making weight in another thread. Either way it is as KOuch says. This is your job. Mistakes like that get you FIRED in the real world. I’m not sure i’ve ever seen Diaz at 160lbs. Talk about lanky.

i agree with carlos, professional fighters. the first job, before fighting is making weight. in wrestling, if you are an ounce over, you don’t wrestle. they usually give you one hour after weighing in to cut. if you don’t make it, you lose. done. thats they way mma should be in my mind, don’t make weight, you lose.

Arnold Darkshner: It IS their job to show up to work at the correct weight limit. That’s half the battle. If that wasn’t their job, then why not get Feder to fight Corbbrey? It’s not amateurs fighting. They bare prize fighters and it is not only their job to show up ready to fight, but it is their professional responsibility. I enjoy watching Diaz fight. But a big part of his job is to show up ready to fight. This time, he did not. Very unprofessional… no matter who does it.

It’s not their job to lose weight, their job is to fight. Yeah he has a weight he needs to get to, but no need to bash the guy, its not like he showed up being 200lbs. If it was a title fight thats another story, but Diaz might have been injured, sick, whatever that could have caused him to not be able to make weight.

Nick just fought somewhere else….was that fight in a higher weight division not leavg him enough time to cut down? Maybe he has had too many late night munchies and marijuana really is taking a toll on him. I support Diaz a lot but just like Alves not making weight, there is no excuse. It is your job!
