French fighter David Baron, who submitted Hayato “Mach” Sakurai in his last bout in May, has signed with the UFC according to The Fight Network.
Baron (15-2) submitted Sakurai (32-8-2) via first round guillotine choke at a May Shooto event. Sakurai had won five-straight bouts and nine of his last ten and had lost just one previous bout via submission.
Details of his UFC debut were not disclosed.
Baron has won his last five-straight bouts and holds notable wins over Dan Hardy, another recent UFC signee, and Abdul Mohammed. His two losses came against notables Per Eklund and Takanori Gomi.

I haven’t had the opportunity to see David fight yet. He obviously must be good if he defeated Sakurai so quickly. Can’t wait to see him fight.
Has anyone ever seen this guy fight before? Who in the UFC does he remind you of? Who is his style similiar to and you do you think he matches up well with?
Iv never seen this guy fight but Im lookin forward to it, sounds like hes a good fighter
I watched a video of Baron training but it was a very bad picture, no sound, terrible camera work and pretty much doesn’t tell us a thing. He seems pretty accomplished and losing to someone like Gomi is totally understandable. Now let’s see how he does in the UFC.
Anyone know what weight class he is
He’s listed at 165 but I’m speculating that he can probably make 155 and 170, though welterweight would be the most likely.
He’s a nice addition to the stable.
In the picture he looks fit. I wish we could get some background fights on him. Youtube anyone?
Strange, I’ve never seen him fight before unless it was an unhyped event that I didn’t pay much attention to. If Dana picked him he must be good.
