MMA Regulation In New York Not UFC’s Major Announcement

The regulation of mixed martial arts in New York is not the UFC’s major announcement, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.
Here’s a snip from the report on this latest development:
“Oliver Copp reported that Dana White denied to him and other reporters in London that the big surprise was going to be regulation in New York. He was openly talking about New York regulation to people. He also told Kevin Iole and Neil Davidson how it was something he has to tell his employees first, and obviously running MSG wouldn’t fit into that category.”

I cannot see how this is not a television deal! As much as this is being built up, it better back up the hype! It has to be something that brings the UFC and MMA into the mainstream! But wanting to address the employees first, it might be that the UFC has gone public and will be on the NYSX or has been purchased by a large company. If they are going public, you would be able to look up their SEC filing. Oh well, who knows, but I bet you Dana has something big!

You guys are starting to piss me off now! I have said almost 20 f-n times, the announcement is midgets and dwarfs coming to MMA. WTF is so hard to understand? I cannot wait until Tuesday when all of you will be thanking me for leaking the news.
Getting off topic, I just read that Kim Couture Randy’s wife, will soon be making her MMA debut. How old is she?
I know theres been a million guesses about this announcement and its been talked about to death, i also have had my guesses about Vince Mcmahon getting involved and all that but realistically, if i had to choose one right now. I’m gonna say a deal with HBO. Its not really considered ” TV Deal “, HBO boxing is hurting bad, especially with Mayweather, arguably their biggest draw retiring. The UFC deal was so close a while ago and I think HBO and UFC will come to terms and UFC can do things their way.
KOUCH…. I don’t think the MDW ( Midgets and Dwarfs ) division is the “big announcement”. I’m pretty sure that will just be announced at the next PPV …lol

Dana shot down the HBO rumor didn’t he? At this point trying to be realistic all joking aside, I am expecting more(weekly) televised events on spike. I don’t know what else to think. The anouncement being pushed back and all the insanity I have gone through I am starting to feel disappointment coming on.
I really hope it is not a Woman’s Ultimate Fighther or having a Woman’s Division of the UFC. Dana White is big on kids practicing MMA, maybe it is a Toddler Division…….
I think its going to be HBO come think its not network tv isn’t that what he turned down he said it wasn’t a network deal.

They are adding a Tag-Team championship division and the first fight is the BJ Penn and GSP vs. Anderson Silva and Urijah Faber!
I think it’s for the new UFC senior tour events to showcase the aged 40 + fighters.
Personally, I think he’s lying. I think one of the ideas/rumors that has been thrown out is what the annoucement is going to be and he is denying them all just to keep everybody guessing and thinking and wondering and anticipating.
Probably a deal with HBO for co-produced PPVs with a monthly inside the ufc highlight/discussion show. Also, maybe a new season of TUF but with celebrities or something terrible like that.

I have to agree with you Jai. The answer is most likely out there hes just trying to milk it for PR.
I once milked a wild boar while lost in the woods. I doubt Dana is milking anything….it’s not fun.
