Jesse Taylor Advances To The Ultimate Fighter 7 Final

Posted by Kris Karkoski on Jun 12, 2008 at 11:32 am ET57 Comments

The Ultimate Fighter 7Last night on the The Ultimate Fighter 7, Jesse Taylor defeated close friend Tim Creduer in the first semifinal bout to advance to the final round of the tournament.

Taylor took Creduer, a jiu jitsu black belt, down often throughout the lopsided three round bout and never provided him an opening he could exploit to finish the fight, using superior positioning and peppering punches and elbows to dominate his opponent. After three one-sided rounds the judges rendered scores of 30-27, 30-26, and 30-26, declaring Taylor the unanimous decision winner.

With his spot in the finale now secure, Taylor will face the winner of next week’s bout between CB Dollaway and Amir Sadollah on June 21st at The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale in Las Vegas.

Also last night, in the traditional coaches challenge Forrest Griffin and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson went head-to-head in a game of H.O.R.S.E. with $10,000 on the line for the winning coach as well as $2,000 for each of his fighters. Griffin, a former basketball player, dominated Jackson, punctuating the trouncing with a competition-ending dunk.

As the episode concludes a preview of next week’s final episode is shown and it promises to be the “most shocking” ending in the history of the reality series. A video is shown to UFC President Dana White and both coaches that shows the window of a limosine being broken out. “He’s out of the finale and out of the UFC,” said White.

Stop by MMAFrenzy.com next week for complete details on the final episode including which fighter is out of the finale and the UFC.

  • KOuch says:

I wonder who breaks that window? I know some guys were not invited back to the UFC after the show so I wonder if a finalist was so f-n dumb he blew his chance by breaking a window? Why is it on the show last night they showed JT Money getting his fancy money sign shaved into his head and then getting hammered like it was the night before the fight? When you watch the fight his hair is not shaved with money symbols and other stupid sh!t. The editers tried to make it look like he was getting wasted the night before the fight but it had to be a different day. Fancy editing to build up the drama.

  • SNUKA says:

I’m betting the limo scene was with Dollaway…I can’t imagine Amir being involved with that…

  • drightler says:

I believe the night of getting shaved and hammered was 2 days before the fight. They did that the night before the weigh in, which is the day before the fight. I can see the money signs in his hair during the fight, they are just difficult to see because they had 2 days to grow out some.

  • D P says:

I think he got all of that done after he fought and it kind of gave away the result of the fight. My guess is that the person that breaks the window is either JT or someone that is irrelevant to the finale.

  • huertarogerhuerta says:

i gotta put my money on JT Money breakin out the window Amir seems too chill to do that and CB he may b cocky and arrogent but i dont think hed lose his cool like that so that leaves JT i wonder if he put jeremy mays head thru the window that would b more exciting then JTs 3 fights combined

  • KOuch says:

There must be a little more to the window breaking. I find it hard to believe a fighter would break a window in a fit of rage and then get tossed out of the UFC. Look how bad they destroyed the house and no one was punished.

  • Champagne says:

well dana said that whoever it was was out of the finals… so it can only be one of the three left, and i doubt that sadollah would do sumthign like that, CB doesnt strike me as that type either… So its probly Coco…

  • KOuch says:

F***! Now I have to wait for this potentially disappointing announcement until next Tuesday and the craziness of a broken window until Wednesday. Given the opportunity I would kick Dana in the urethra…..and I like the guy. I do not like suspense, anxiety, surprises, mystery or Kimbo Slice.

  • cvkid says:

Jesse is the most boring fighter I have seen on TUF. His fight are the same ****ty ground and pound that drags out the whole fight. He has no stand up or bjj. So I hope its him getting kicked out of the finals. Plus getting drunk the nite of the drunk before the fight childish.

  • KOuch says:

    cvkid,

It was fancy editing that made it look like he got drunk the night before the fight. Besides, who cares if he did? The guy cuts weight by wearing the plastics and playing ping pong. Urijah Faber was up until 4am or something like that before he fought Pulver. Everyone is different and has their own way of going about fight prep. You are right that JT Money is boring though. Typical wrestler….Takedown…weak ground and pound….yawn boring.

  • JAI says:

I agree CVKID! That guy is a boring fighter. I mean it’s obviously working for him, but he is not exciting to watch at all. He only has that one thing going for him…he just takes you down, lays on you, holds you down and does a little bit of G&P, but nothing substancial. To his credit though, he does seem to wear his oppenents out though. They all seem completely exhausted after fighting the guy. So he’s obviously strong and effective at what he does, but man he is boring! I think If I were fighting him, I would take him down and see how comfortable he is on his back. I’m surprised guys haven’t used that stragety yet on him yet.

  • Kris Karkoski says:

It’s worth making not of White’s phrasing. He’s out of the finale and the UFC. He doesn’t say he’s out of the finals (as in the final bout of the tournament) so it could be any of the fighters on the cast.

  • JAI says:

…I will admit though, the guy has some really good JJ defense. He escaped some really good submissions against Tim. His back defense his pretty good as well. Tim had his back on two occasions and couldn’t capitalize on it. However, one of those times Tim lost the position by trying a high risk submission and when it didn’t land, he ended up on his back getting G&P’d again.

I really think it is JT that gets kicked off the show, because they show Dana saying “HE’S OUT OF THE FINALS AND OUT OF THE UFC”…I can only hope!! I always felt that CB and Tim where the two best skilled guys in the house. Amir is probably the most dangerous and boy is he tough! Amir-CB should be an awesome fight!…can’t wait to see it.

  • JAI says:

Oh ok, I gotcha Kris Karkoski ! Thanks for clearing that up….I still hope that it’s JT though.

  • MMA_K9 says:

It could well be jeremy may then if thats the case

  • Kris Karkoski says:

Yeah I’m not trying to make it sound like it is or isn’t anyone, just saying it really could be anyone on the cast based on the language but I’d venture it’s at least someone who won one fight. Who would care if someone who lost in the first round, and likely wasn’t on the finale anyways, was out of the UFC?

  • Jason N. says:

I will bet the farm its Jesse…i bet he gets drunk again and gets wild…you see how wild he gets….and frankly…I think its him bc of how Dana reacted….do you think he would ban a potential stud like CB for this?!? Hell no… but he has no prob banning a guy like Jesse who is a BORING fighter…so its going to be CB vs Tim in the finals….to be honest though, id like to see cb vs a strong guy like Jesse…but regardless, Jesse is the type of boring fighter the UFC needs to do away with….

  • MMA_K9 says:

lol on another note i’d just like to add…..Rampage sucked at being a coach this year lol his picks were crap lol

  • MMA_K9 says:

Jason how can you count out Amir? Dude’s a badass.

  • Jason N. says:

I dont think Rampage’s picks were crap…I think HE was crap…I still think he “drafted” the 2 best guys in the house, CB and Harris…I still think Amir got lucky….that Harris just was dumb and left it wide open for Amir to land a knee… but Harris was and will be a stud…but Rampage just didnt look like he knew HOW to coach…but like they say…those who cant do…teach… and usually the ones who CAN do…dont teach…or teach as well as the ones who cant…

Now by saying that, im not saying Forrest cant fight…he is just one of the few who can do both well…like a couture…

  • Jason N. says:

And just so you know Kris…to comment on your comment…dana does say finale and out of the UFC.. but the announcer then says…who will fight in the finale….so that just gave it away.. and thats why if i were a betting man, id put it all on Jesse going by by…as for Amir..

I can count him out because Im sorry…Im NOT impressed with him….he was being handled by harris until harris made a mistake….he did ok vs brown…but brown is overrated in my eyes… and i know people will think im nuts, thats fine.. base your opinions on this reality show.. i will go off of the fact brown was 9-6 coming into the house and amir was 0-0….amir is not proven and he beat guys who arent proven… to say he is a bad ass is like saying Jesse is an alcoholic bc you saw him drink on 1 or 2 episodes.. brown will get destroyed by Arroyo in the finale…and Amir will put up a decent fight but in the end will get defeated by CB bc he doesnt have the skill to defend against someone with CB’s back ground….

  • Kris Karkoski says:

It will be interesting to see what happens.

  • SNUKA says:

    Jason N.

I think you’ll be surprised. CB is gonna get beat. Finals = Amir vs. JT

  • D P says:

I really hope that this is real and not staged because the “video” that Dana is watching looks just like a “scene” from a WWE show where Stone Cold use to torment Vince backstage. Please say it ain’t so Dana.

  • Jason N. says:

Well it wont be JT..he is the dude in the limo… and I dont think it will be amir bc the UFC are terrible with teasers..they want you to think 1 way so that when it goes the other way, it will shock you…hence…thats why they show amir kicking cb and knocking him down…makes you think…wow…amir will win…

  • MMA_K9 says:

    Jason says

I can count him out because Im sorry…Im NOT impressed with him….he was being handled by harris until harris made a mistake….he did ok vs brown…but brown is overrated in my eyes… and i know people will think im nuts, thats fine.. base your opinions on this reality show.. i will go

I see what your saying but then again maybe thats just how he fights? He reminds me of Forrest in the sense that he needs to take a few licks to get working, and no hes in a fight.

    kinda looks like forrest too.

  • MMA_K9 says:

    D P says:

I really hope that this is real and not staged because the “video” that Dana is watching looks just like a “scene” from a WWE show where Stone Cold use to torment Vince backstage.

lmaooooooooo i was thinkin the exact same thing.

  • Spud says:

Well say CB wins and JT Money gets kicked out, who’s the best replacement?

  • MMA_K9 says:

Anderson Silva……………I wanna see CB get man handled like prison fish lol

  • Mike says:

It is probably Paul Bradley because he signed with elite xc already so evidently he’s not fighting in the finale

  • Dave, Md says:

JT money isnt money anymore, He blew it … I wouldnt count Amir out but …….. Cb looked good as well I think its going to be a good fight and they will fight again in the Finals

  • YZFOXRACING says:

I AGREE WITH AMIR WINNING… I JUST GOT A FEELING. I CAN’T STAND CB JUST HIS STUCK UP FACE AND BODY LANGUAGE JUST MAKES ME WANT TO GIVE THE TV AN ELBOW LOL…

  • Dietrich says:

Not a bad match last night though the bjj coach was getting on my last nerve.

  • raffy says:

I havent been watching but I hear that cb rampage get into it and cb subits rampage all quick like is that true?

  • inside guy says:

it’s bradley…the cast members were called back for “post” production work…and sorry it is staged…Dana had to make it look good.

  • Dietrich says:

I love Vegas just as much as anybody else but isn’t it time we got rid of this Real World “Bravo Sierra” for something a little more tangible. Like maybe a season in Iowa and Miletich picks one guy from a training camp to bring to the UFC.

  • KOuch says:

    Dietrich,

That would be nice. Unfortunately, that would only be appealing to the hardcore MMA community. I was just at my best friend’s house a few hours ago talking up MMA and he doesn’t know ****. He watches the TUF show and every PPV with me but he is just an average fan. The average fan likes the “hollywood drama” side of reality TV. My wife even likes the TUF show and I am too embarassed to mention some of the shows I am forced to watch because of her. My point is, to get the masses, they have to do the Vegas thing. If they went to Iowa, you and me may be the only two watching. Not saying we’re better than everyone either. Just way cooler. And I feel bad about that. I do like the idea though. UFC needs its own channel for stuff like that.

  • Dietrich says:

I think a format change is the only thing that will save the show. Next week looked like a dramatization of the Warren Commission reviewing the Zagruder film. I was waiting for Dana to hit the remote and say “back and to the left….”

  • B says:

Its Gotta be JT, in the preview they show CB, and Amir fighting

  • JOEL B says:

does anyone have any ideas about the preview for next week? I am curious who is getting booted from the finals my guess is JT moneys drunk ace. but i am guessing that this happens after they leave the house cause they dont get a ride in a car like that unless they are outta the house.

cb vs amir???? i like amir better than jesse or tim so it kinda sucks they through amir to cb but either way i bet the fight will be better than the finale.

  • JOEL B says:

coco does remind me of koscheck though what was that nickname that leban gave kos…thats right the blanket we will call hime jesse “the blanket” taylor
lol i would much rather see amir and cb in the finals. amir has a sweet style by sweet i mean looks ridiculous remember his ninja jump kick that was classic. i look forward to him in the finals i think that either way he will be the first guy to debut in the ufc with a record of 0-0.

hey is this the first season where they made the semi finals 3 rounds if so is that acreddited fight but the state????? i was pissed when they were telling tim to get ready for the third round i was like are you high he got beat down for 2 rounds i dont think is momentary mount did anything for him on the score cards he almost had that omaplata but due to sweatiness jt slipped it i was hoping tims crazy mating call ace was going to the finals to get destroyed lol
    ??????

  • coduckfan says:

    Joel B

I think it only went 3 rounds because it was the semi’s, not like the prelim fights where the 3rd rnd is for “Sudden Victory.” When they read the judges scores, the first judge had JT winning all three rounds 10-9. The other 2 judges had JT winning one of the rounds (probably the 1st) 10-8 and the other 2 rounds 10-9.

  • kelvin says:

everyone’s thinking it’s JT with the whole limo thing. you’re all most likely wrong.

HINT #1…dana says “he’s out of the FINALE and out of the UFC”
FACT…anyone from the show can fight on the FINALE, dana never said he’s outta the FINALS!

HINT #2 (in response to comment #22)…the announcer said “who will fight in the FINALE”. that’s because we still haven’t seen who wins between CB and amir.

HINT #3…most of the time, they do stuff like this to make you guess and guess until you get tired of guessing and you make DAMN SURE you don’t miss the episode.
FACT…it’s called advertising and i’m sure this will be the most watched episode because of how they did it. nice job on keeping everyone in suspense dana!

  • MMA_K9 says:

I will only be shocked if its amir and he goes. Everyone else im kinda expecting it.

  • Dannyboy says:

JOEL B this fight between CB and Amir is considered a true fight (3 rounds) so if Amir wins he will debut in the UFC at 1-0. If you don’t consider the finale debuting in the UFC then he could very well be 2-0 when he debuts.

I just hope Dana doesn’t announce a partnership with McMahon…if he does…then we will begin to see B.S. promotional video like the limo window being smashed from now on.

Question for all of you: Did you notice that Dana White didn’t get mad that they tore up the house? Ever wonder why? It’s because not only did he give them permission to do it…he encouraged them! THAT is good TV. :)

  • Adam says:

Dana white Says “Finale” not finals, so that means any one of the fighters not in the Finals could be kicked out. I hope it’s Jesse Taylor punching Jeremy Mays face through that window but Jesse doesn’t know how to throw a punch. All JT does is the ‘lay&pray’ he lays on you and prays that you don’t submit him. I think fighters like him should be screened prior to be let on the show because he make for bad TV. I don’t know how you could sleep @ night knowing you’re a boring fighters. Personally, either CB or Amir could knock that douche out. His style of fighting has no place in the UFC and any real striker with some take-down defense will stop him in his tracks. More fighters need to use flying knees because look at it’s effectiveness inside the Octagon – James Irvin vs. Terry Martin, BJ Penn vs. Sean Sherk, Spencer Fisher vs. Matt Wiman should I go on….

  • KOuch says:

JT reminds me of Tommy Speer.

Let’s start the process of elimination with the window culprit: I really do not think any of the follwing did it:

    Matt Brown
    Amir
    Tim Cruduer(spelling)
    CB
    Yardale

  • SiMonsterD says:

I think if CB gets beaten he’d be a totally plausible culprit for the Limo thing. If you look at the coaches when they are reviewing the tape, Rampage is up close looking quite shocked and Forrest is sitting back giving a sly grin.

    I reckon it’s CB…

I like Amir. I think he has a great attitude and I like JT. Although not the most intelligent of people (”Icing on the… er… ice-cream. I don’t know if I said that right…”) I think he’s a nice enough guy but his stand-up needs to evolve.

  • Rise of The Machines says:

Champagne: dana said he was out of the FINALE, not the FINALS.

And I doubt they’re being kicked out the show for breaking a window. I’m sure someone snook out of the house and took a limo drive around town.

  • evan says:

Judging by the benders that JT goes on, i think it’s likely that he breaks the limo window and is elminated from the finale.

With JT eliminated from the finale, it’s going to be CB vs Amir for the final fight.

  • will says:

well, the correct wording is finale is it not ? as finals would apply to multiple fights.

what you have to ask your self is why was someone from the ufc in the limo ?
    prehaps its rampage lmao :)

  • Dean says:

i thought it was a prostitutes underwea lmao

  • kona911 says:

everyone is assuming the broken window causing the person to get thrown out of the UFC. I think it is Juice. Now who could it be?

  • No Name says:

It is Jesse 100% sure. I talked to him and he admitted it

  • ann says:

damn jesse blew it!!! but cb being brought back that was a set up to bring a rampage player back in this!! did ya see forest’s face mmmmmmmmm bull crap im done with watching this show

  • No Name says:

See told you guys. Wish I could have found this site sooner and I guess spoiled it for you guys haha.
