Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold is expected defend his title for the first time against UFC veteran Keith Jardine at a January 7 Strikeforce event in Las Vegas, according to MMAFighting.
Rockhold (8-1), who had expected to fight Tim Kennedy next, won the 185-pound belt with a unanimous decision over Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza in September for his 7th-straight win, while Jardine (17-9-2) fought former champion Gegard Mousasi to a draw in April after snapping a five-fight losing streak with back-to-back wins.

I wonder why Tim Kennedy wasn’t available.
Rockhold should make this one look easy . I have been building respect for him …. tall , athletic , crazy/adjustable style …… solid fighter .
Jardine? Title Fight?
Color me confused.
It’s Strikeforce. Normal rules for title fights don’t apply here.
lol. You’re right. If they follow their previous pattern in the heavyweight division (lose badly to Fedor and get a title shot), Jeff Monson should be getting a phone call soon…
LOL
This is some kind of joke right!?
I thought he had gone to a draw with Gegard Mousasi? Don’t understand why the title shot….
