Yet another Brazilian has joined the UFC 142 fight card, as submission specialist Rousimar Palhares will meet fellow middleweight Mike Massenzio at the January 14 event in Rio de Janeiro, according to MMAWeekly.
Palhares (13-3) topped Dan Miller at the UFC’s return to Brazil in August for his second-straight win and fifth in six fights, while Massenzio (13-5) rebounded from a return loss to Krzysztof Soszynski with a win over Steve Cantwell in his return to 185-pounds in October.
UFC 142 is topped by featherweight champion Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes and currently features one Brazilian in every bout, including Vitor Belfort vs. Anthony Johnson and Thiago Tavares vs. Sam Stout.
