The UFC on Fox debut averaged 5.7 million viewers on Saturday night, making it the most-watched UFC event ever despite featuring just 64-seconds of fighting, as Junior dos Santos knocked out champion Cain Velasquez in the opening round to win the UFC heavyweight title.
UFC on Fox was the most-watched professional fight since 7 million tuned in for Lewis-Klitschko on HBO in 2003 and won several key demographics over college football competition, including Stanford vs. Oregon on ABC. More men 18-34 tuned in for UFC on Fox than any college football game this season except last weekend’s matchup between No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Alabama.
UFC on Fox also beat Kimbo Slice’s CBS debut in 2008 with EliteXC, which averaged 4.9 million viewers.
