UFC 141′s Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem Winner to Earn Title Shot

The winner of the UFC 141 main event between former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and Strikeforce champ Alistair Overeem will be crowned the number one contender and challenge the winner of tomorrow’s UFC on Fox main event between current champion Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos next year, the UFC officially announced yesterday.

Lesnar (5-2) dropped the title to Velasquez just over one year ago to snap a four-fight win streak and hasn’t fought since as he recovered from colon surgery that forced him out of a June fight with dos Santos. Overeem (35-11) topped Fabricio Werdum in June in what would be his final Strikeforce fight before moving to the UFC on a 10-fight win streak.

UFC 141, which takes place on Friday, Dec. 30 in Las Vegas, also features lightweight contender Donald Cerrone vs. Nate Diaz and welterweight contender Jon Fitch vs. Johny Hendricks.

“Imaginationally” overheard outside of Dana White’s office:

“Ok, lets find the 2 guys who LOOK the best on promo posters and in promo vids and have them fight. Then the winner of THAT fight, get this, HE fights the winner of the 2 guys we’re putting on Fox, Velasquez and whats-his-name, who can ACTUALLY fight. THATS money, and once again I’m a fu<king genius! BOW DOWN!!"

Brock Lesnar is a joke no matter what anyone says. He almost always looks good in his fights but only because he is big and strong. Lesnar has no striking or stand-up technique what-so-ever, I’ll give him wrestling, but that’s it. Lesnar is in for a rude awakening when he actually fights someone his own size with far superior stand-up and striking technique and most likely the stongest opponent he has ever stepped in the ring with. Lesnar took the title by beating Couture who is almost double his age and around 40 pounds less then he is. Randy was also coming back from a long break from MMA, already giving any opponent the upper hand. Plus who the hell thought it was such a good idea to give Lesnar a title shot after only 2 or 3 fights in the UFC, with no prior MMA experience. Lesnar has no chance against Overeem in my eyes. Lesnar fans are gonna be pissed when he slips up by doing something like taking a shot from to far away and quickly getting k.o.’ed from a shin kick to the head from the #1 ranked Mauy Thai Fighter in the world.
