Rob KimmonsMMA veteran Rob Kimmons (20-3) will make his UFC debut at “The Ultimate Fighter 7: Team Rampage vs. Team Forrest” Finale on June 21st against Rob Yundt (6-1) in place of an injured Alessio Sakara.

The news was reported by MMAJunkie.com on Monday.

Sakara was forced out of the bout, which has not yet been officially announced, due to a broken ankle.

Kimmons has won his last three-straight bouts over Ryan Sheeper, Fernando Rivera, and Tristan Yunker and has won eleven of his last twelve fights. His three career losses have all come at the hands of UFC veterans Marvin Eastman, Ryan Jensen, and Joe Riggs. Sixty-percent of his victories have come by way of submission.

Yundt made his UFC debut on short notice, filling in for an ill Alan Belcher, and was defeated by Ricardo Alemida via first-round submission at UFC 81. He had won all six of his previous professional bouts in the Alaska Fighting Championship.

I am not sure if this is a good replacement or not. Nothing against Almeida but if he submitted Yundt in the 1st round and Yundt’s opponent(Kimmons) has won 60% of his matches by submission, Yundt sounds in trouble to me. It seems as if he now has a tougher opponent. As for Sakara….I think the UFC should cut him. In my eyes he is inconsistant and not a future gate keeper or champion. The most enjoyment I have got from Sakara was when he was kicked in the testicles so bad the match was ended and I believe he left on a stretcher. That was brutally cool.

    from a sherdog post
group of investors led by Dana White have agreed in principle to purchase the UFC from Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta for an undisclosed amount. Included in this investment group is WWE’s Vince McMahon who will now own a minority stake in the company. They also have plans on taking the company public by years end.

At the press conference also expect Dana to announce that with the help of McMahon, who has extensive connections in the New York State Athletic Commission, they were able to get the UFC sanctioned in New York, and plan on having a show sometime in the winter at Madison Square Garden. That is all I have right now.
