BJ Penn vs. Nick Diaz
Round 1 – Josh Rosenthal is our referee and the fighters were held apart before the start. Diaz swings wildly and eats a stiff counter from Penn. Diaz clinches and gets Penn to the cage. Penn punches out and we’re back in the center. Jab from Penn connects. Overhand right connects from Diaz and Penn responds. BJ grabs a collar tie and lands an uppercut. Diaz starts a takedown that turns into a scramble the Penn wins. Penn briefly takes Diaz’s back and lands some hard shots but Diaz recovers side control and is now controlling posture. Diaz is keeping his legs up like an armbar atack with the arm. Penn stands and grabs a front-headlock as Diaz attacks the leg. Diaz works back up into the clinch. Penn with a stiff knee and Diaz backs out. Wild shot from Diaz misses badly and Penn responds with two uppercuts that connect hard. Penn works Diaz against the cage with :40 left. Diaz works free but eats a hook. Diaz lands a right but eats a counter combination from Penn. The round ends and Diaz gives Penn a hard shoulder going to his corner. Round 2 – Diaz is talking crap and literally head butts a Penn jab feint. Diaz gets a clinch and moves Penn to the cage. Diaz with a few shots but Penn grabs a collar tie and lands an uppercut. Diaz is repeatedly grabbing the fence and Penn’s corner is making sure to get Rosenthal’s attention. Penn shoots a single but a nice sprawl from Diaz. Diaz is sticking his chin out there daring Penn to hit him and Penn obliges. Diaz begins to swarm Penn against the cage. Diaz’s cardio is showing up here and he attempts a double. Diaz is landing some shots. Good combo from Diaz hurts Penn and Penn circles out. Diaz smells blood and is landing at will right now. Diaz is taunting a clearly hurt Penn and Penn lands a combination slow Diaz a bit. Diaz clinches Penn against the cage. Great round from Diaz, MMAFrenzy scores the round 10-9 Diaz (19-19)
Round 3- Penn opens it up with a nice body shot and he’s countering Diaz well. Penn with a telegraphed takedown attempt that Diaz defends easily. Diaz lands some nice shots to Penn along the cage. Good body shot from Diaz. Good shots from Diaz are stifling Penn’s movement. Penn finally works back the center and lands a nice right that makes Diaz clinch. Diaz corners Penn along the cage before Penn slips out. Diaz’s reach is paying huge dividends here. Combo from Penn and Diaz covers up. Kick blocked by Penn. Penn with a nice uppercut but Diaz responds with a nice combination. both fighters are just swinging with a minute left. Hard right from Penn. Penn fires with a nice uppercut to end the round. Matt Mitrione vs. Cheick Kongo
Round 1 – Both fighters circle early with Mitrione bouncing more with his hands low. Mitrione fires a punch that Kongo parries, Kongo with a kick. Kongo fires a combo and Mitrione backs away. Mitrione attacks and swings wildly to no avail. Kongo clinches and pins Mitrione to the cage. Kongo with solid shots in the clinch. Mitrione working double overhooks now. Herb Dean splits them and we’re back in the center. Mitrione attacks wildly again but Kongo evades. Legkick from Kongo. Another legkick from Kongo that had some heat on it. Body kick from Kongo connects but Mitrione traps it and breifly takes Kongo down. Mitrione attempts another combo and Kongo easily evades again. Close round, but Kongo connected more and showed good clinch control. MMAFrenzy scores the round 10-9 Kongo.
Round 2 – Kongo with a combo that is punctuated by a leg kick. Kongo fires another combo but Mitrione clips him. Kongo backs off and the fighter’s circle. Leg kick from Kongo. Combination from Kongo followed by some wild hooks. Mitrione evades. Mitrione fires a shot that misses and then shoves Kongo to the cage with a body shot but Kongo evades without too much damage. Kongo with another leg kick. Mitrione with a nice shot. Uppercut from Mitrione and Kongo tries to slip away. Front kick from Kongo connects to the body of Mitrione but Mitrione partially blocked it. Kongo fires a hook and looks to the body but Mitrione covers the body. Outside legkick from Kongo. Mitrione stalking forward and briefly connects as Kongo ducks away. Very tough round to score. MMAFrenzy scores the round 10-10.
Round 3 – Mitrione with a nice combo against the cage but Kongo punches out. Kongo lands a nice punch, follows with a shot and sloppily slams Mitrione to the mat. Mitrione recovers breifly but then gives up his back. Kongo threw some nice shots with Mitrione on the ground there. Mitrione works back to his feet and Kongo blasts Mitrione’s thighs with knees. Kongo with a nice takedown into half-guard. Kongo throwing shots now. Mitrione appears to looking for a kimura but it’s leaving him wide open for an arm triangle. Hammerfist connects flush on Mitrione. Kongo then works a nice wrestling crossface to keep Mitrione spread out. Mitrione gives up his back and the rolls to no avail. Kongo landing some good shots and begins looking for a choke as the horn ends the fight. Most decisive round of a very close fight. MMAFrenzy scores the round and the fight for Kongo (30-28).

Mirko Cro Cop vs. Roy Nelson
Round 1 – Nelson looks to the body early and fires a wild haymaker that misses badly. Cro Cop is timing Nelson but is telegraphing his straight left. Nelson lands a takedown but Cro Cop regains guard nicely. Nelson using the forearm to the neck in an attempt to gain control. Cro Cop traps an arm though. Nelson is loading up power shots rather than the shorts shots he needs to use. Cro Cop explodes up and we’re standing again. Cro Cop clips Nelson with a kick and punch. Nelson with nice right and Cro Cop responds with an uppercut. Nice upper cut from Cro Cop. Nice exchange as Cro Cop connects and slips Nelson’s response. Nelson is stalking forward though as Cro Cop evades and picks his shots. Great body kick from Cro Cop. Very close round. Very close round. MMAFrenzy scores it 10-10.
Round 2 – Big right hand from Nelson but Cro Cop responds and explodes on Nelson. Cro Cop connects with several brutal uppercuts but somehow Nelson survives. Nelson’s face is destroyed. Cro Cop more aggressive early but settling down now. Nelson fires a horribly off-balanced overhand right and Cro Cop evades easily. Crisp head kick from Cro Cop but Nelson defends. We’re on the cage now as Nelson is working for a single. Nelson gets him down and gets to side control. Nelson is working the Salaverry position but Cro Cop is defending. Nelson has an arm-triangle open but attacks with short shots. Cro Cop is pinned in the Salaverry position as Nelson rains down short strikes. MMAFrenzy scores the round 10-9 Nelson (20-19)
Round 3 – Nelson lands a straight right hand that backs Cro Cop up hard. Nelson with a shot and Cro Cop defends but eats a hard shot and slips down. Nelson immediately takes his back and blasts away with shots before the referee calls a stop to the fight.

Jeff Curran vs. Scott Jorgensen
Round 1 – Curran is aggressive early and thows several combos. Jorgensen freezes Curran with a nice counter. Jorgensen gains a single-leg takedown and the fun begins. Curran quickly gains full guard and is controlling posture well. Jorgensen firing nice short punches though, but Curran keeps positioning his hips for an armbar or triangle. Butterfly sweep attempt from Curran barely misses and Jorgensen recovers. Impressive defense from the Boise St. wrestler. Curran firing punches off his back and briefly works back to his feet. Referee Kim Winslow stand them up. Curran showing some power strikes but Jorgensen executes a nice single leg. Contentious round there. MMAFrenzy scores the round 10-9 Jorgensen.
Round 2 – Curran opens the round with a head kick that Jorgensen easily checks. Jorgensen is opening much more aggressive here. Jorgensen gains a front-headlock and begins throwing knees on Curran. Curran escapes along the cage though. Jorgensen catches a Curran knee and we’re back on the mat. Jorgensen looks to pass to no avail. Curran attempts a guillotine but Jorgensen defends perfectly. Curran firing combos but isn’t moving side to side enough. Jorgensen gets another takedown and Curran attacks with his guard again. Curran controlling the wrists well and goes for shoulder lock, which he turns into a sweep attempt. Jorgensen defends well though as the round ends. MMAFrenzy scores the round 10-9 Jorgensen. (20-18)
Round 3 – Curran is loading up and trying to catch Jorgensen shooting to start the third. Curran connects on a nice punch but Jorgensen keeps working. Curran with a nice combo. Curran is favoring his left hand but still firing it anyways. Nice uppercut from Curran. Fighters clinch and trade knees as Jorgensen works him against the cage. Curran gains the Greco clinch for a moment but Jorgensen works out. A minute left and we’re still standing. Curran with another nice combo and Jorgensen punches out. Curran with a shot to the body. Curran attempts a shot but misses and Jorgensen works to side control. Round ends as Curran attacks off his back. Impressive technical battle in this one. MMAFrenzy scores the round 10-9 Curran but the fight to Jorgensen 29-28.

Hatsu Hioki vs. George Roop
Round 1 – Roop is aggressive early but not landing much. Hioki fires a combo but Roop evades. Roop catches Hioki with a groin shot. We’re back underway now. Hioki with an outside leg kick. Hioki forces a clich against the cage. Hioki looking for the takedown and Roop reverses position. Hioki uses a missed outside trip to reverse. Hioki’s clinchwork is impressive. Roop is defending the takedown well however. Hioki takes Roop’s back briefly but reverses out against the cage. Hioki hits a beautiful takedown into side control. Hioki immediately looks to pass. Brief exchange and Roop regains guard before escaping. Hioki lands a few knees in the clinch as the horn sounds. Roop looks solid early but MMAFrenzy scores the round 10-9 Hioki.
Round 2 – Roop is really looking for the that high teep early. Roop with a nice combo finished with a kick. Hioki fires another combo but Roop evades well. Hioki secures a brutal body lock and gains full mount off the takedown. Roop hip escapes but Hioki recovers side control. Hioki is looking for a keylock but Roop defends and Hioki explodes to full mount. Hioki locks his legs in mount and Hioki fires shots while controlling Roop. Hioki is clearly looking for his signature triangle everytime Roop tries to buck. Hioki begins working an Americana/arm triangle. Hioki with an elbow but Roop escapes. Roop fires an upkick and gets to his feet. Roop fires repeat head kicks but wastes time taunting Hioki as the round ends. Hioki just smiles. Round 2 goes to Hioki 10-9 (20-18)
Round 3 – Round begins with Roop being very aggressive. Hioki keeps his composure and gains a clinch against the fence. Roop doing a good job defending and pummeling in. Roop gets a body lock and reverses position. Hioki fires some knees and Roop responds with his own knees. Midway through the round and Roop is controlling the action so far. Referee Josh Rosenthal separates the fighters and Roop gets a takedown. Hioki traps an arm but Roop works free. Hioki gains rubber guard. Thirty seconds left and Roop is playing it safe. Hioki throws his legs over but misses as the horn sounds. MMAFrenzy scores the round 10-9 Roop, with the fight going 29-28 Hioki.

PRELIMINARY CARD (Spike TV)
Dennis Siver vs. Donald Cerrone
Round 1 – Cerrone charges but Siver stops him with a counter. Fighters are trading kicks. Cowboy with a tough combo. Cerrone buckles Siver with a powerful shot and Siver recovers by dropping in on a single. Cowboy clips him again and then Siver forces them against the cage. Siver lands a few shots on the cage before Cowboy escapes. Siver clips Cowboy. Cowboy with a nasty leg kick to punch combo that drops Siver. Cowboy immediately throws in the hooks and and locks up a nasty rear-naked choke that forces the German to tap. Very impressive performance.
Donald Cerrone defeats Dennis Siver via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:22 of Round 1
Bart Palaszewski vs. Tyson Griffin
Round 1 – Fighters trade punches early as they feel each other out. Bart attempts a front kick that misses. Each fighter is retreating the minute the other advances. Bart attempts a a combo but Griffin hits him with a tough straight punch. Bart wobbles Griffin with a left hook and then another short left. Palaszewski unloads on Griffin with wild hooks before referee Steve Mazzagati saves Griffin as he collapses to the mat.
