UFC 142 Expected for Jan. 14 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Less than five months after hosting its first event in Brazil in 13 years, the UFC will return to Rio de Janeiro’s HSBC Arena on January 14 for a pay-per-view event that is expected to be UFC 142, according to MMAjunkie.

On Thursday, UFC President Dana White confirmed that Brazil would also host the first international edition of The Ultimate Fighter, which is expected to air in the U.S.on FUEL TV.

No further details have been announced, but White said the UFC hopes to visit Brazil as often as possible.

UFC 134 featured a number of Brazilian fighters, including UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva (vs. Yushin Okami), Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (vs. Forrest Griffin), and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (vs. Brendan Schaub).
