UFC Fight Night 15: Nate Diaz vs. Josh Neer
“The Ultimate Fighter 5″ winner Nate Diaz will reportedly take on Josh Neer at UFC Fight Night 15 in September.
MMAJunkie.com reported the rumored bout late last week.
Diaz (9-2) has compiled four straight victories in the UFC over Manny Gamburyan, Junior Assuncao, Alvin Robinson, and, most-recently at UFC Fight Night 13, Kurt Pellegrino. Neer (24-6-1), “The Densit”, is just .500 in the UFC with a 3-3 record but has won his last three straight bouts including a UFC victory over Din Thomas at UFC Fight Night 13 in April.
A location has not been determined for the September 17th event which will air on Spike TV and serve as the lead-in for the debut episode of “The Ultimate Fighter 8″.

“The Dentist” is going to lose. In any case, I hope he can do some mouth work on Diaz. I have always had a hard time understanding the words coming out of his mouth!
Thankfully I have a dvr, so all I do is rewind it 3-4 times. Then I understand Diaz…..
Diaz definitely has a unique form of speech but that’s no reason to hope for damage to his mouth. While I expect to see a good match I do not wish pain upon either guy for any other reason than being the better fighter….not because of the way they speak. Diaz comes from Stockton California and is a professional fighter. That explains his speech. In any case, GO DIAZ! How many more wins do you think until Diaz becomes a contender or gets a title shot? Depending who he fights I say 2-3 wins puts him close but the LW division is packed with maniacs.
How many wins until he gets a title shot? Id say the better question is how many wins until we actually see him fight a tougher opponent. You look at all the guys at 155 and right now he hasnt fought Frankie Edgar, Joe Stevenson, Clay Guida, Tyson Griffin, Sean Sherk, BJ Penn, Joe Lauzon, Kenny Florian, Roger Huerta, Hermes Franca, Mac Danzig, Manny Gamburyan (since the show), Gray Maynard etc.

Diaz will win in this lack luster fight, again… the guy keeps winning and they keep throwing middle of the road talent at him….but hey, maybe Neer can hit him so hard that he will stop saying Stockton, CA every 2 seconds after his fights!

He’s good. Not taking anything away from him. I just hate him. Oh, and yes-other than Manny he’s had it pretty soft. I thnk Manny would’ve taken him. It would’ve been close, but I’d a taken Manny over Diaz.
Hey Robert, Diaz has already fought Gray maynard and choked him out. He also fought Hermes France and was whooping him until he got submitted via armbar. I like diaz I would love to see him fight some better competition. Go Diaz!

The only time I wanted to see him choke someone out was on TUF, when “The Heat” got in his face. That would’ve been classic….

Nate is just good like his brother. Great fighters make great fights. The Diaz brtohers live the life.
I hope after this fight they put Nate Diaz on a PPV main card and give him someone more challenging.
Both Nate and his brother Nick get hated on way too much. These guys are DEDICATED to the sport and both of them are still very young but have massive experience and have fought some tough competition along the way.
Can’t wait to see Nick win back the belt against noons on the 26th IN STOCKTON. Then see his brother get his 5th straight a couple months later.
I actually got to meet Diaz a few months back and i swear he was on drugs. I didnt understand anything coming out of his mouth. His bjj should speak for him though and will pull out a w in this fight
Diaz takes it but Neer won’t go down easily…and NO WAY does Diaz deserve a title shot after he takes out Neer…he would get f’n destroyed by Penn! And I hope Nick KO’s that fruitcake Kj Noons when they have the rematch!!!
i was hopin pelegrino beat diaz. i see neer winning an upset.actually, it wouldnt even be an upset, but everbody thinks diaz is gonna win.

I think that the Diaz’s are terrific fighters. Their attitude sometimes comes across as a bit arrogant, but that comes with excellence.
I also would love to have seem Karo get a beatdown from Nate. Karo was being an idiot on TUF5.
I don’t think he deserves a title shot yet, and they are keeping him at bay at the moment with the fighters that he is getting. He needs a tougher fighter. After this, he needs to fight a contender… providing he wins, of course.
