how unfortunate how something so bad is now going to look so good in the eyes of cbs. boo
lol i hear that
I can’t wait to see the ratings for the next show. See if all the curious viewers tune in again to watch such a debacle. Or the ratings when kimbo isn’t on a card.
Yes the ratings went up only, only because so many people wanted to see Kimbo get diced and sliced..That’s the only reason.
Its true that the ratings for this advent where really high because love or hate kimbo he makes you watch plain and simple, i have seen all the comments on this site from every ufc die hard and yes some being cazy dumb to the smart. yes the first elite xc is an armature fight league! so every fight will not have the tech skills we are all use to seeing in the average ufc ppv. but some of the fights on Saturday where pretty entertaining for being what they are. but it was not the worst thing i have seen, nor the worst thing to happen to the sport of mma. if it helps bring more viewers to the sport then let it happen. the more viewers to this sport means more money for the sport to bring better bigger shows to the USA and Canada.
people who start watching CBS ELITEXC for kimbo will no dout find there way to the UFC where bigger money is spent on fights and fans and form there find those oggs overseas like DREAM and K-1 more fans + money = bigger better fights for us all. we all know where the Real fights happen but that does not mean small orgs have no place in mma. but hey that’s just my opinion
why are we still hearing about this, has nothing else happened in the world of mma other than this garbage, must you keep making us relive this freakshow
I know it’s rare that a fighter ever dies, but I have to think, what if a fighter dies, or is permanetly injured on network tv? There will be calls to ban mma in the USA, not that there isn’t already, and there are permanent injuries in every sport, but I just don’t see many positives coming from mma being on network tv. The only 2 positives are more viewers and more money for fighters and promoters. But way too many new mma bashers. All I’ve been hearing on sporting news and espn radio are guys bashing the sport that have never talked about mma in all the years i’ve listened to their shows.
JustJoe you have it right, so many people want to bash MMA that just have no idea what they are talking about. In the end it seems that the promoters are the ones who are going to benefit from it and some of the money will start to trickle down to the fighters where it belongs thankfully. I really hope that people continue to watch as I am sure the fights are going to improve. Kimbo is a big draw right now and rightly so, everyone wants to see him transition into a true MMA fighter because of what he is (a true street fighter). I was impressed by a lot of what Kimbo brought to the fight, in time I’m sure he will continue to improve.
Oh and Trump being a part of the Affliction team has got to put a bit of a scare into the UFC, that man knows how to run a business and I’m sure it will only help Affliction to become a great organization and provide top rank fighters, which they have already begun to collect. I’m looking forward to watching Affliction, I hope to see the old pitbull come back, if he does than he will be a contentender again. So much of this game is in their heads and it’s true when you get knocked out it rattles you for a bit but I hope Arlovski manages a come back!!!
