UFC 85: Wain and Chonan Withdraw, Sanchez and Burns Named as Replacements
More changes have hit the UFC 85 fight card as undercard fighters Neil Wain and Ryo Chonan have both been forced to withdraw from their scheduled UFC 85 bouts. The latest lineup changes were announced earlier today.
UFC 85 “Bedlam” takes place on June 7th at the O2 Arena in London, England and will be broadcast on pay-per-view. The fight card features a main event welterweight bout between former champion and future hall of famer Matt Hughes and Thiago Alves. Also on the main car are Michael Bisping versus Jason Day, Marcus Davis versus Mike Swick, Nate Marquardt versus Thales Leites, and Fabricio Werdum versus Brandon Vera.
An undefeated up-and-comer from Britain, Wain was forced to withdraw from his scheduled undercard bout against Antoni Hardonk after suffering a broken nose. UFC veteran Eddie Sanchez (10-1) has stepped up to replace Wain. After defeating seven straight opponent via stoppage to begin his career, Sanchez defeated Mario Neto via seond-round KO in his UFC debut at UFC 63. He was next defeated by Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic at UFC 67 but has bounced back with back-to-back UFC wins over Colin Robinson and Soa Palelei.
Replacing Chonan, who withdrew after sustaining a rib injury, against Roan Carneiro on the preliminary card will be Kevin Burns (4-1). Burns has won his last two straight and has never had a fight go the distance. His lone loss came via doctor’s stoppage in early-2007 and in his last bout, Burns defeated Steve Schneider in late-2007 via second round submission.
Remember, MMAFrenzy.com will have live coverage of the entire event on June 7th beginning at 3pm ET.

Am I the only 1 who won’t order a ppv unless there’s a belt on the line? Why is Nog not defending? Sure the main card looks decent, but I think I’ll wait to see these fights on unleashed in a couple months.
Nog isn’t defending so he can face Mir after TUF 8.
lol I’d rather watch SNL(reruns)
sod it, bring in leben as he’s out of jail now, this is getting stupid. How about Dana takes over another 5 fighters to have up his sleeve JUST in case there is like, a fifteenth ficht swap for this bloody card.

Does Dana REALLY want to impress the UK with the card he brings? Matt is very good, should be great, but the whole card has just been a swapping game. Let’s hope someone doesn’t chip a toenail cos they might just have to cancel.
I will be sitting in a £125 seat that now, I wish I only had a £45 seat.
I miss chuck !
go eddie sanchez!!!
just because the card ant got a belt on the line doesn’t mean its no good, i cant wait to watch this card, some good fights on here, cant wait to watch davis smack swick all round the cage also be good to see wat vera can do after his loss, then we got the fans fav the count who will be looking to put on a good show for us english fans, then we could have a big upset if alves beats matt and if he doesn’t beat him then we will get to see matt hughes make a statement and joe rogen to shout HE’S BACK HE’S BACK
This should be free on spike, I cant believe anyone would pay to watch this card. It was set up as free on spike a few months back, and it was going to be PPV on HD only. I dont know what happened and why they changed it.
