wat is there not to like about penn the guy is class and wants to put on the fights us fans want to see i think penn would TKO gsp not guna say it would be easy but after watching him last nite and for many years the guy is an animal who could stand with any1 in the world and his takedown defence is better then chucks wel thats wat i think anyway the only way any1 could beat BJ is if he ran out of gas.

cant wait for bj to fight huerta and lose the belt and his pride with it, that fight lost alot of respect for sean sherk, i believe he didnt use steroids but he fought a stupid fight and for him to say that he think he gave fans what they wanted was overstatement of the century, was such a boring fight he beat the **** out of the air and thats bout it, 15 miniutes and he landed what 3 punches? matt serra is same size and he at least put up a fight sean sherk is down in my book
johnboy i agree with crockpot, hes cocky and unimpressive, florian or huerta will have the belt by 2009 bj is alot of talk and has ran through stevensen and sherk but sherk put on a ****fight and stevensen just doesnt have the experience to know what to do against bj, and gsp along with anderson sylvia is are the best pound for pound fighters, they need to fight bj isnt even in same class

BJ Penn is the best pound for pound fighter in the world. The only fighter that could compete for that title would be Feder. BJ can fight on his feet and knock you out or take you down and choke you out. He handled Jens Pulver with ease and now he’s dominated Sherk. Who’s left in the 155 pond division for him to prove himself against?
If I was in Sherk’s situation I’d have to agree boxing the first 2-3 rounds was probably smart decision. I wouldn’t want to willingly go to the ground with BJ until he’s thoroughly tired. Cardio wise Sherk would last longer than BJ and trying to test his boxing and drag the fight into later rounds probably wasn’t a bad idea and is something that could work against Penn by a fighter with good cardio and an equal or longer reach.
ryan, what are you on that makes you think either florian or huerta has a shot against bj? he just owned sherk, a guy who’s only 2 losses in over 30 fights where to GSP and a decision to Hughes. and he handled stevenson with ease which is no easy task, and the fight with pulver was a joke. I will say that florian and huerta will prolly present a different challenge cuz they’re better strikers, but bj can hang on his feet as we’ve all seen. even if you look at the last fight with hughes, he was beating him standing and on the ground until he gassed. the loss to gsp was contreversial. again, the only reason for that loss was prolly due more to his conditioning which no longer seems to be a factor at 155. As deep as the lightweights go, i honestly don’t see anyone beating bj unless he gets bored and loses focus.

Bj is here to stay for a while. He is so metally focused. Florian or Huerta will end up with another loss against BJ.
I hope Huerta smashes Florian, but it’s gonna be a tough fight. I don’t want to see Huerta get pummeled by BJ he’s too nice of a guy. I’d love to watch Florian get his face smashed in by BJ though. But I hate Florian with a pasion. Who the heck should I root for?
