UFC Video Game Set For Spring 2009 Release

The highly anticipated UFC video game, which is being developed by THQ, is now set for a spring 2009 release according to Gamespot.com:
“…The publisher also addressed today the Ultimate Fighting Championship game, which has kept an exceptionally low profile since the 2007 E3 Media Business Summit. That project will now see release in spring of 2009, and like Legends of Wrestlemania, its release will be tied to one of the UFC’s major events.”
The UFC has so far produced video games for PlayStation, PlayStation2, Dreamcast, GameCube, GameBoy and XBOX, but has yet to make their mark on the PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360 platforms.

they should make it for PSP too! im gonna be pissed if they dont…
im already pissed…was supposed to be out this summer or fall!! Now NEXT YEAR!?!?! come on…there wont be any UFC guys to put on that game in a yr!! The roster will all be different!
It was always slated for a 2009 release if I recall correctly. As per my article that I wrote in February, we are supposed to see a preview during UFC 84. We’ll see if that happens…
Yeah, tentatively it’s UFC 2009 and more details will be announced at UFC 84. The game industry is an interesting one and commonly pushes games back or teases games for the longest time (as was the case this time) so an update was definitely welcome.
this game was originally set out for january this year then august and now spring 09. thats bull****. I dont even want this **** now.
2009 is garbage!! this was announced to the public in early january 2007. They are saying they need another year? Am I the only person who threw up in their mouth when I read THQ was going to make it? I mean jeez these guys were two years late to get into the Rock Band gutair hero craze. Battle of the Bands? who even wants that? lEGENDS OF wRESTLING? Who cares? How long can they market wretlers from the seventies and eighties. If EA made this thing ; a very realistic , scrawny, beer bellied version of me would be getting my video face beat down by some 12 year old online right now. This is awful. I’m going to put on makeup , cut myself and cry in the shower. That’s what THQ has done to me!
Matt Hamil wouldn’t stand for this! “The Hammer” would kick ass and make his own game with a calculater and a blow torch… and i bet it would be better than THQ… Matt Hamil rules…

i hope the ufc 2009 game is made 4 playstation 2 because if it is then i will definitly get a copie of it. so it better not just 4 xbox 360 and ps3
Guys the game is going to be great! There were many complaints about previous games so now THQ has taken the lead and WILL NOT produce a poor game. If they need more time to pull it together and make it the best game on the market, I”m all for it. If you know Dana and the Fertitta’s you should know that they will not let it be released unless it is a blockbuster!
