Henderson Wants Another Crack At Silva
During a brief interview with NBCSports.com, Dan Henderson was hypothetically asked who, if anyone, would he like to fight next in the UFC. Without hesitation, the former PRIDE middleweight and welterweight champion simply responded “Anderson Silva.â€
From Henderson:
“I definitely want to get back in there and earn another shot [at Silva] because I’m not satisfied with my performance. I typically don’t dwell too much on things like that, but it did disappoint me quite a bit and I just felt like I didn’t- I wasn’t 100 percent that night and at that level, and against someone like Anderson Silva you have to be 100 percent to perform well. So I’m ready to move on now, I’m excited to get back in there, just trying to figure out who, where, and at what weight class.â€
Lastly, when asked who in the UFC middleweight division he thought could give Anderson Silva the best run for his money, Henderson grinningly replied:
“Me…like I said I need to get back in there and earn another shot for that.â€
A fight between Henderson and former champion Rich Franklin has been tossed around the rumor mill, but nothing has been confirmed at this time.

I do believe Henderson can beat Anderson Silva, but everyone that looses to Anderson Silva has been saying that…….. He just keeps winning, either he’s been hiding a horse shoe up his a$$ or hes just that good. A metal detector before entering the octagon will solve this problem.
Personally, I think it’s time Silva to spread his wings into other weight divisions. He should move up, down, drop even lower, then gain excess weight back. Now is the time for Silva to make his move on other weight division titles. He should just drop to LW and then work his way up to HW until he owns every divisions title.
I definitely would have liked to see lutter get another shot eventually. Sure he gassed out against both silva and franklin but was on the verge of finishing both of them. I know close doesn’t count but they are supposedly 1&2, and it’s got to be obvious to him what he has to work on. I dont think it will happen though.
Well Lutter is gone thanks to dana, but to be honest I won’t miss him. I would love to see A. Silva and Rampage fight at light heavy weight. A. Silva vs. Liddell would be great too.
i say hendo will get ****ed up im not lien andrson silva will dominate every division there is
he wont dominate every division there is but he would in my opinion beat henderson in a re match. silva is the best mw in the world but its a hard thing to do to go up and dominate other weights. im sure there are plenty of big lhws who would be hard for silva to dominate.
i believe we need to see a hendo vs ace that will really decide who the challenger should be i am SURE that the ufc knows this and will be a huge headliner i bet by october.
gsp would take silva apart at welter weight or middle weight
GSP would be the best well rounded guy to beat Anderson Sylvia. If he moved up in weight I think he would be challenged by many people and start lossing. so if he needs a challenge he should move up of fight GSP.
maybe they should have two guys fight silva at the same time to even the playing field. lol. i dont see him droppin to LW but i could see him doing well at 170. 205 seems like it might be a bit of a bj penn scenario cuz i dunno if he’s got the frame to add that weight and still be in good shape. i know he’s fought at it before but i’d say he’d be best suited for ww and mw. i’d love to see him destroy bisping.
i would love to see a henderson vs franklin match…hendo wins that i think he deserves another shot at silva…franklin wins i would like to see him fight bisping
KOouch, i hope what you wrote was a joke. do you think these guys can drop and add weight with ease. silva walks around at over 200 pounds, i’m sure he has to work to get to 185, and i’m sure he couldnt drop to lower weight classes. LW? you kidding me?
and for all you dreamers: gsp would get absolutely worked by silva. gsp is a great fighter but he couldnt handle silva’s power. what would be a great fight is gsp vs. bj penn. alot of people, me being one, think penn should have gotten the decision last time
i agree, i’d love to see penn vs gsp 2 cuz the last one was pretty damn close. but i’m not sure that silva would destroy gsp. i did think that until i realized that silva’s only 5′11”. given that the height isn’t that different, i’d say it would be a pretty close match with a slight edge going to silva but i wouldn’t say he’s unbeateable in that scenario. personally, i think if anyone beats silva, it’s gonna be hendo or gsp. i don’t see anyone else standing a good chance.
henderson is a joke he should have to fight franklin and i bet sakara and okami would kill him to untill he beats anyone in the ufc im not convinced
anderson silva and gsp are in my opinion pound for pound best fighters in their division. I hate when people say bj penn is too. He is not and will never be. Especially after the 24th….
silva would own GSP…hes way to powerful. Silva walks around at about 200, so to drop to GSP’s weight anyway would be a stretch. And if he did, he would have too much power for GSP…hes much bigger. Sorry for all you GSP lovers, but he would get owned
These comments pages are always full of sad people. One day they praise Matt Huges, then bash him. One day they praise Rich, then bash him. Not the big person people want to praise is Silva. Is anyone here a TRUE fight fan? Not some pathetic coin toss fan?
