Nick Diaz Pulled From DREAM 3
In what seems to be an unfortunate trend for Nick Diaz, the EliteXC lightweight has been restricted from competing as scheduled at this Sunday’s DREAM 3 event in Saitama, Japan:
“Gary Shaw phoned Diaz’s manager Cesar Gracie early Tuesday with the news that the league was killing the fighter’s appearance on the May 11 Dream card. Diaz will make his next scheduled contest versus Muhsin Corbbrey at 160 pounds June 14 on the Showtime-televised EliteXC card from Honolulu, Hawaii. Representatives for Fight Entertainment Group, which expected to promote Diaz’s welterweight bout this weekend versus Katsuya Inoue, did not respond to requests for comment.â€
Apparently, EliteXC pulled Diaz from DREAM 3 when they realized how compacted his fight schedule would be given his approaching June 14 bout, an issue which the company was not willing to take a chance upon:
“Having accepted a bout for Diaz, that was subsequently canceled on Dream’s April 29 offering, EliteXC’s concern stemmed from the proximity of the May 11 fights, set for live broadcast on HDNet, with the company’s June 14 offering headlined by a lightweight title bout between KJ Noons and Yves Edwards.â€
The motions which led up to the latest fight cancellation are a bit cloudy, but the bottom line remains that Nick Diaz has been pulled from competition yet again. Perhaps this time around the reasoning is a bit more legitimate, but it still spells nothing but aggravation for Diaz, who has not fought since November of 2007.

hey he was a friend of mine in highschool he just likes to fight and thats it. i would be pissed if i couldnt do my job and get paid. can you imagine your last paycheck being nov 07. i would be pissy and if youre baseing your comment on his interview on sherdog about being pulled last time. i believe diaz comment was ? i just want to fight” so please tell me where you founded this idea he is a cry baby
Might have slightly exaggerated on the ” little cry baby ” comment but my feelings about Nick come from the way he ran out of the arena after getting beat by KJ Noons. Wether it was justified or not, he was cut up bad, he lost, and I was not impressed at all with his actions.
