Adrenaline MMA’s Second Event Scheduled For September 6th In Illinois
Despite not having completed their first MMA event, scheduled for June 14th in Chicago, Adrenaline MMA has already announced their second event. Adrenaline MMA President and CEO Monte Cox announced that the promotion will hold its second-ever event on September 6th at the i wireless Center in Moline, Illinois through MMA Weekly.
Opened in 1993, the i wireless center holds 12,000-plus spectators and is located in the Quad Cities region, which includes Bettendorf, Iowa, home of Miletich Fighting Systems.
Miletich fighters Tim Sylvia (24-4) and Ben Rothwell (27-5) have been confirmed as appearing on the September fight card, though their opponents have not yet been announced.
Prior to his September bout, Sylvia is scheduled to face top-ranked heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko at an Affliction-promoted event in July.

Sylvia on a fight card is personally asking me not to watch. He has got to be the most boring fighter ever. The only reason he got away with his Kalib Starnes routine consecutively is because his size. It took the average fan 3 matchess to understand and see Sylvia was just going to push his weight around and lean on people to win a decision by controlling the match. I hope he gets hurt and retires.
Watch Sylvia beat Feor KOuch… Sylvia is a tough guy….He dominates people standing up.
yeah fedor might be boring but the guy doesnt lose many fights. he has a good chance against fedor. to hope a fighter gets hurt is stupid they are all trying to make a living and fight kouch.
Sylvia may not be the most exciting fighter but he is not boring. I hope he does fight Fedor and actually beat him for not coming to the UFC.
Well I see it like this, for someone to say Fedor is a boring fighter is frickin incredible! The man doesn’t stop once he’s got you on the ground! Submissions, ground n pound, strikes you name it if you’re fighting Fedor you’re getting all of em! I personally don’t find Tim to be a boring fighter either. Yeah he’s big and unproportioned but the man can fight. He’s got huge power and he can protect himself, (if not actually submit someone) from the ground and not to mention he defended his title how many times and won it back how many times. The world needs to lighten up on Tim Sylvia, he’s just trying to make a living doing what we all would love to be doing. Getting paid to hurt people with no consequences other than whatever damage gets inflicted on you!…. but that’s just my opinion.
I read on another site that the Adrenaline event in July lost the venue it had.. So whats gonna happen with this fedor v sylvia fight now?
Yeah I just read that Sean. I heard they’re looking at moving in to California but honestly very, very little has been announced officially for the event so it’s kind of a waiting game to see where it ends up.
Larry, he made a typo when he said Fedor was a boring figher. He meant to write “Tim”.
wait, I just reead the rest of the article…haha, I live a block away from the iWireless center….I will go and write up a good review for it.
That’s awesome FixXer, should be a solid event and well worth attending.
Tim has no chance. NO CHANCE.
Larry, I couldnt agree more with the comments you made about Tim. He is out trying to make a living doing a job that he loves….and he works har at it. Thats more than most or maybe even all of us can say. I want to be a guitar hero haha….its not going to happen because I am not willing to give up everything I have to pursue my dream…..Most of these fighters have. Tim Sylvia did…..and it paid off for him. There are fighters that I dont like or that I hope lose fights…but there is still that respect there and all the fighters have more heart than any of us….thats the bottom line.
when was tim sylvia’s last non-boring fight? Arlovski 2? Cabbage? hes a doofy bastard that beat weak opponents early, then hung on to the title because champs cant lose decisions even if their fights suck.
I have Tim Sylvia beating Fedor personally. And I kind of think it’s too bad because I also have Randy beating Fedor, and if Timmah beats him first then Randy may never fight him, seeing how he completely dominated Sylvia in their fight.
Heres how I see it. In a ring Tim is even harder to take down because you REALLY need to shoot a DEEP double leg or get a great grip on a greco take down, and then you still need to be able to pick up the 6′8 300lb guy and slam him. I don’t know that Fedor is going to be able to do that without the help of a cage to press Sylvia up against.
I also see Tim out striking Fedor kind of big time. Look at how he handled Nog. He was destroying him in the standup and that reach advantage is only bigger against Fedor. I see him cutting Fedor early due to Fedors paper thin skin. I don’t think Fedor will be able to get Sylvia down and beat on him like he has many others. So we’ll have to see.
Fedor is going to beat Sylvia. There’s no way Tim is going to out strike FEDOR. Fedor has an incredible chin and I’ve seen him take hits that should have knocked him into the next week. I don’t think Tim is going to be able to defend Fedor’s take down either. Let’s be reasonable here, NO ONE stands against Fedor for long. Look at the fight with the Jolly Green Giant a little while ago, I’m positive Fedor will be able to take down a 300 pound Tim Sylvia. Sylvia has a decent ground game but Fedor is a monster on the ground, Remember El Minatauro, Fedor dominated the master on the ground. No I think if people really look at the skill set of both guys, Fedor has the better game period. Tim is simply looking to take something back from Randy but he’s going to get knocked the F*&# OUT!
Timbo is prone to submissions, and Fedor is a submission expert. Fedor will win by arm bar in the 1st round.
THe bottom line is if Fedor and Randy really wanted thier fight to happen, it would have already. Look how easy it was for Sylvia. He went and looked for the fight, and he got it.
The reason Tim got his fight with Fedor is, ( I really thought everyone knew this already), Tim asked the UFC to release him and they did. Randy asked UFC to release him to fight Fedor and they said no, thus beginning the now infamous fight between UFC and Couture. Randy cannot fight until his contract is up and even then he is going to have court issues with the UFC for a long time to come I think. Anyway the bottom line is that Although I would love to see the Couture vs Emelianenko fight, I really don’t see it happening in the next two years unless some kind of miracle happens and Randy can fix the issues at hand, or the UFC shuts it’s frickin mouth and stops being so controlling to it’s fighters and allowing superfights like the Randy vs Fedor fight to happen. It would have happened last year if the UFC would only have let Fedor fight in his “OWN COUNTRY” once or maybe even twice a year in Sambo competition for his country!~!!!! Holy **** Dana how much control do you people need! ANyway that is once again my opinion
FixXer,
No fighter has more heart than me. I would hope all of you dedicate yourselves towards something in life even if it is not fighting. Being a fighter does not make you king of the world. You, FixXer, may want to seek therapy and uncover some issues you have with self esteem.
To all of you who said Tim is NOT boring…..LOLOLOLOLOL you are ridiculous and I cannot even carry on this conversation. Your views are distorted in a thick incrustacean that I need to now break free from. I now need to become an escapist from a conformist world thanks to people like you Sylvia fans.
Kouch you should really take the advise you so graciously gave to Fixxer.
honestly, the amount that fedor’s demanding for pay, plus the change in venue, plus sylvia signing up for the next one already spells a bad business plan for this company. i think they tried to book the fedor fight to get some momentum but failed to look at the big picture. i doubt that with fedor’s payday this company will last a year and IF this fight happens, it will be a flash in the pan and nothing more. i agree with alot of people the ufc holds too much control, but they’re the only ones who’ve really showed that they know how to run a succesful business and it’s because they plan ahead. this is all opinion, but something just makes me think that this company will be in the red after the first show. also, i hate mike bisping!
KOuch
Definently no self esteem issues here dude. As far as no fighter having more heart than you….then why are u not at the top? I appreciate the advice you gave…..but let me give you some now. If you have more heart than Jens Pulver, Chuck Liddell, Spencer Fisher….just to name a few that show their heart out there, then next thing you need is skill because if you have that kind of heart, I would be paying $50 to watch you on PPV.
As for being a Sylvia fan, he is a kind hearted guy and is very generous. He is actually hosting a benefit for his friend Ricky McNeil who was severely injured after trying to save his 12 year old son from a fire. He has gotten many celebrites and fighters to help the benefit…SO not only is he a great fighter, but he is a great human being as well.
speaking of cool outside the octagon, did i hear that arlovsky did some benefit to rescue pit bulls? if so, that’s really cool. i wish that guy was still the same fighter he was before he fought sylvia the 2nd time cuz i still for the life of me don’t know why he isn’t at the top. he’s got all the tools, he just seemed lackluster in his last couple fights. that is cool of sylvia though, i do like how most of these guys are cool in real life which is why it makes no sense that espn has selcected kimbo for the cover. i’ve seen nothing but a thug mentality from that guy in interviews, not to say he’s not a cool guy in person, but i’ve yet to see it. still, i’d rather see him on there than bisping.
Fedor did not take down the “Jolley Green Giant”. He got on top of Fedor. And as far as talking about how dominant Fedors hands are. Look at what Fedor did the Nog, and now look at what Sylvia did against Nog. Granted he got caught with a guillotine, but he was DESTROYING Nog before that. I’m no Sylvia fan. But I do think Fedor has been fighting lower quality fighters long enough to not deserve to be ranked #1 and also he hasn’t faced a fighter like Sylvia yet. I really think Sylvia wins this one by UD
